New Venom Trailer At Least Show More Venom
There’s a new Venom trailer today, chock-full of so much Venom and symbiote action! Thankfully, this trailer confirms that Venom won’t only be in the final five minutes of the film, as had been rumored. Looks like the big guy is gonna be all over this movie!
I remain cautiously optimistic about Venom. On the one hand, most people have not been happy with SONY’s output. But I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy the Amazing Spider-Man movies. So there’s a very good chance I’ll probably enjoy Venom. I’m disappointed that SONY and Marvel couldn’t work together to make Venom part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but I’ll make my peace with that. There’s always sequels if the Venom movie succeeds.
For some disappointing reason, the villain of the film has been revealed as Riot, possibly the least interesting member of the five Separation Anxiety symbiotes. Out of all of those symbiotes, Riot looks the worst. He’s just a big, muscular, dark guy — exactly like Venom. Why not go with Scream and have a badass yellow female symbiote for the villain of your film? Even Lasher and Phage have unique looks.
There are rumors that Carnage will show up as a tease in the film, but that’s like when they teased Evil Sinestro at the end of the Green Lantern movie. A sequel is not guaranteed for Venom, so why save your best moves for later? I suppose that’s the risk all superbero movies must take. It worked for Batman Begins when they used the Scarecrow and saved Joker for the sequel.
Will it work for Venom? We’ll find out on Oct. 5!

Animated History of the Alien from Alien
Our favorites at Tell It Animated are back with their take on the various aliens from the Alien movies. I think they’re called Xenomorphs? Probably.
As always, these are neat, nifty little videos with a lot of thought and great animation put into them. If I can make a request, I want to see some more superheroes, like Robin to go along with their Batman video, or Captain America. Maybe some of the Universal monsters, like Frankenstein, would be cool.

6 Best Superheroes With Portal Powers
Now we’re thinking with portals! One of my absolute favorite comic book villains is often mocked to no end for being one of the lamer bad guys, despite the fact that he has one of the coolest powers in all of comics. We’ll get to him further down on this list, but it’s always grinded my gears that he gets mocked when his powers are legit amazing.
So I’ve put together this list of awesome characters with the same power to prove how cool it is!
That power is teleportation via portals. Have you ever played the video game Portal? How much fun is that game? You rend the fabric of space to create a hole and then pass through to an adjoining hole. It’s super neat! And it’s super fun! And there’s a bunch of superheroes and villains with the power.
Join me after the jump as I prove to you with solid evidence that portal powers are the best!
DC Brings Even More Movie Trailers – Shazam! and Aquaman!
Just when I thought I could stop posting new movie trailers from San Diego Comic-Con, DC and Warner Bros. hit us with the trailers for their next big superhero movies: Shazam! and Aquaman! Seeing as how I’m a sucker for superhero movies, you’re darn right I’m posting these two trailers!
Shazam! looks pretty good, even though I still can’t get past seeing Zachary Levi as anything other than Zachary Levi.
But I definitely like the trailer. It looks neat and has a nice gimmick.
However, the Aquaman trailer looks cheesy and messy and a little too crazy.
I don’t care for that trailer. It leans way too hard on the big CGI nonsense of Atlantis than on anything I might be interested in. And while I still like Jason Momoa in the role, he’s really only in this trailer to deliver one-liners when they cut to him. And they’re not even good ones.
Mera jumps out of a plane without a parachute, and the only thing the writers could come up with was a crack about redheads? Really? Is there that little creativity put into this film?
Of course, you’re darn right I’m going to see it when it comes out!

So Many Flippin’ Movie Trailers!
I am definitely losing the battle for posting fun stuff from San Diego Comic-Con. There’s been a ton of really neat trailers, and I’m way behind on sharing them, let alone the cool comic book news. But it’s Saturday afternoon, and I’m ready to drop some cool movie trailers on your henchies!
We’ve got Godzilla: King of the Monsers.
Looks darn cool! Bring on all the monsters! I liked the first one, so you best believe I’m excited for this one.
Then we’ve got Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
Yeah, totally, more Wizarding World movies! I’m way in favor of those. I’m sure this one will be a blast. Remind me before this movie comes out to tell you all about how Newt Scamander doesn’t actually do anything in the first film in the series.
Then how about the trailer for Glass.
I loved Unbreakable, just like everybody else. I haven’t seen Split yet, but I’m sure it’s fine. And bringing them together sounds good to me! Let’s do it!
I think that’s all the movie trailers I have to share right now. And I know I’m missing some others that debuted. But I’m only one man on only one blog!
I’ll share some TV trailers tomorrow!
