Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailers Are Here!
The first trailers for Spider-Man: Homecoming arrived on televisions and Internets last night, and they’re pretty cool. Check’em out.
Honestly, I’m kind of lukewarm about these trailers. They’re good, but they’re not exactly blowing me away. I like the teen Peter Parker stuff immensely, and Tony Stark is always good. The Vulture also looks pretty badass. I’m hoping for a lot of greatness from Michael Keaton. But overall, these trailers don’t offer us anything new with Spider-Man, and that’s disappointing. This is, what, the sixth Spider-Man movie in however many years? The third incarnation? Marvel has a pretty big hurdle to clear here, though I would say they’re on the right track.
The movie comes out in July, I think.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Trailer is Smashing!
A lot of trailers for movies and video games have dropped in the past few days, and I didn’t post them because I had some other projects planned. So I’ve been saving them up for a Trailers Monday! Should make for a fun day! We’ll kick things off for the first full trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and just like the teaser trailer a couple of months ago, it’s hilarious and amazing.
I wish I was a non-comic book fan at moments like this. I wish I was just someone who really enjoyed Guardians of the Galaxy two years ago, and now gets to watch this sequel trailer with no real knowledge or understanding of comics and no real knowledge of understanding or obsession with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I wish I could watch this trailer as just someone who is looking forward to the continuing adventures of Star-Lord and Groot and Drax, and could react to these hilarious moments naturally.
Ah well, even with all that I know, this trailer was still so funny and so great. I cannot wait!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 12/3/16
I come to you people more the worse for wear. I got some crummy medical news the other day about some inner ear/balance problems that I kind of just need to suck up and deal with. Ugh. It’s just generally crummy. So forgive me for any noticeable typos or bad attitudes.
Fortunately, not many comics came out this week, considering it was a fifth week in November. So we’ve only got a couple comics, from the new debut of Ghost Rider to the next exciting Power Rangers issue! The latter easily wins Comic Book of the Week for more out-of-the-box ideas!
The Red Green Power Ranger!
Ms. Marvel also came out with a new issue this week, but it quickly morphed into a big election PSA. Like, I had to go back and check the cover to make sure this wasn’t some kind of free handout. It gets really in depth about the ins and outs of voting…even though Election Day was several weeks ago. Not quite sure what was going on there, and it was a little too hopeful about the election to actually review.

Cyclops Was Right Yet Again, Let Me Count the Ways
For the past year of X-Men comics, the once glorious Cyclops has been hailed as nothing short of the next Hitler. He’s been on this trajectory for awhile now, but comics took an 8-month jump at the beginning of the year, and everybody was very hush hush that not only had Cyclops died, but he died doing something absolutely horrendous to the Inhumans.
Well the big mystery was revealed in the conclusion of Death of X last week, but all that it revealed was that Cyclops is a true hero, now and forever.

I don’t know what the heck Marvel is doing. Either they don’t understand what it means to be a super-villain, or this is the greatest long con in superhero comics history. Part of me is leaning towards the latter.

The Teen X-Men Can’t Seem To Settle On What To Wear
Superhero costumes are pretty iconic. When you see Superman, you definitely know that’s Superman. They’re a time-honored part of the whole superhero party. The X-Men, especially, have some really iconic costumes. Cyclops, Wolverine, Beast, Gambit, Jubilee, Psylocke, Colossus; no matter who you’re talking about, these heroes wear some very iconic threads.
So what’s the deal with the time-displaced All-New X-Men? It seems that every time Marvel relaunches their comic they give these guys a new set of uniforms. I realize they’re teenagers, and the X-Men do change costumes a bunch, but four different sets of uniforms in only four years?
I don’t really have much of a point to make. Just an observation. Personally, I’ve grown pretty tired of these characters. Their series was pretty good when they first appeared back in 2012, but I just don’t care anymore. There are more than enough present day X-Men who deserve to be explored. I have no idea why Marvel is sticking with this group — unless it’s still part of their screw-FOX plan. The ultimate middle finger to those movie-making bastards. Why tell compelling X-Men stories with the incredible cast available when you can just keep telling mediocre stories starring the most boring X-Men cast possible?
And they won’t stand a chance at becoming iconic if Marvel just keeps throwing them into seemingly random costumes.
