My 6 Favorite Spider-Man Allies
Spider-Man: Far From Home is here and it’s great! I saw it last night and enjoyed the heck out of it! It’s another fun Spidey adventure, with great characters, great action and some really great after-credits scenes! Stay for them all! My full review will go up next week!
To celebrate this movie, let’s take a look at my favorite Spider-Man allies!
They’re amazing!
Many years ago, when Spider-Man: Homecoming was being made, I did a list of my favorite Spider-Man villains. Spider-Man was one of the major comics I read in the 1990s, back when I was first getting into comics on my own. And I’ve always had a soft spot for both Spidey’s extended Rogues Gallery and his various superhero buddies. Spider-Man is such a big brand that he has other superheroes who exist pretty much exclusively as heroic supporting characters to him. It’s great!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 6/29/19
In only a few short days, we’ll get to watch Spider-Man: Far From Home! I’m quite jazzed, as the movie has been getting rave reviews, with a lot of people really hyping up the post-credits scenes. I’ve done fairly well at avoiding spoilers for Marvel movies recently, so I’m excited for next week! Got my ticket for opening night on Tuesday!
No Spider-Man comics this week, because I’m just not reading any. I keep meaning to fix that. But we do have a couple issues of Ms. Marvel and Runaways! In terms of big issues, we’ve got the finale of War of the Realms, which is solid, and the finale of Mr. & Mrs. X, which is nice, but the fanboy in me is giving Comic Book of the Week to the next big Mighty Morphin Power Rangers kick-off!
What?! New Power Rangers?!
BOOM! Studios and their Power Rangers creative teams have been injecting pure fanboy nostalgia into my veins for nearly the entire length of their comics. It’s insane.
Meanwhile, X-Tremists wrapped up this week with a nice send-off for the only Age of X-Man comic worth reading. Hopefully we get some better closure with the Omega issue, because I want to see what happens to Blob when he has to weigh his old, evil life against the good-ish person he was in Age of X-Man. I fear we’re never going to get that closure.
Comic Reviews: Magnificent Ms. Marvel #4, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #40, Mr. & Mrs. X #12, Runaways #22 and War of the Realms #6.
The Blob-assaince Was Good Enough
The Age of X-Man is almost at an end. I don’t know what’s going to happen in the big Omega finale. I don’t know if the Blob is even going to appear. But Leah William’s final issue of X-Tremists is out, and she lets our boy go on a really strong moment that I wanted to share.
He’s being set up for a rude awakening!
This moment is good, but the really great moment I’m going to put after the jump in case you didn’t want to get spoiled by simply opening my blog today.
6 Thoughts on the Third Season of Jessica Jones
And so the Marvel Netflix Defenders era has come to a quiet, whimpering end. The writing has been on the wall for a long time, and the final season of Jessica Jones has dropped. We don’t go out with a big, grand, Defenders reunion. Just a quiet, emotional episode of one of the top shows. Goodbye, my friends.
TV Show Rating: 7/10 – Good.
Once upon a time, I did a List of Six of the things I wanted to see in the Netflix Defenders shows, back when they were first announced. I got most of what I wanted, so that’s nice. But overall, the shows were more disappointing than we all expected them to be. They were largely good, I think. And history will be kind to a lot of what happened. As for the final season of Jessica Jones, I liked it.
Join me after the jump for my full thoughts on the final season! Expect FULL SPOILERS for the whole season!
Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 6/22/19
New comics! They’ve come out! And I’ve read a couple! Like Batman! And Guardians of the Galaxy! And even Captain America! What a time to be alive.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Go Go Power Rangers: Forever Rangers #1, an oversized issue that didn’t need to be that at all. But here we are. It’s a fun, action-packed issue that promises to kick off more to come!
Go get’em, fellas!
Meanwhile, I dunno, I don’t have much else going on at the moment. What about you peeps? Any new comic recommendations for me?
Comic Reviews: Batman #73, Captain America #11, Guardians of the Galaxy #6, Go Go Power Rangers: Forever Rangers #1, Unstoppable Wasp #9.
