Some Sweet Gotham Knights Artwork!

There hasn’t been any more news on the upcoming Gotham Knights video game, but I’m still very excited to play! And over the past few months, the Twitter account shared these cool pictures of the four playable characters. And since it’s a lazy Monday, I felt like sharing! I think these are all nifty costume variants!

Gonna have to get used to the cape-less Robin…oh man, I can’t wait to customize my playable Robin!

I’m very excited for this game! I hope it comes out for the Playstation 4. It’s supposed to come out sometime this year…so let’s get our hopes up!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 1/9/21

Welcome, to the world of tomorrow! More specifically, welcome to DC’s Future State! The far-flung future comics event began this week and I picked out a couple of titles I wanted to read, Next Batman, Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn! But I’ve also got a big pile of Marvel comics to read, like Iron Man and Juggernaut! This is gonna be a big pile of reviews, everybody! It’s all very exciting.

I’m gonna put all the Future State reviews on the bottom, just to group them together.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Future State: Wonder Woman #1 for a really fun and charming first issue. But the new Thor issue was so close because of a couple great cameos…

New things are afoot

Meanwhile, I just finished off The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and the series ending was…not good. Jeez louise. The show had a lot of potential and promise when it started, but it seemed to flail a lot as it headed for the ending. The last season was a wild ride, to be sure, but that ending is just terrible. And I’m usually a guy who likes terrible endings!

Comic Reviews: Iron Man #5, Juggernaut #5, Thor #11, X-Factor #6, Future State: The Next Batman #1, Future State: Harley Quinn #1 and Future State: Wonder Woman #1.

6 Thoughts on Wonder Woman 1984

Welp, Wonder Woman 1984 has arrived and it has landed with a big, dull thud. Reviewers and superhero movie fans across this great internet are ripping the sequel to shreds, and I don’t necessarily think they’re wrong. I watched Wonder Woman 1984 on HBO Max and…it was fine. I didn’t hate it, I didn’t think it was terrible, but I can’t say I particularly cared much for it.

Movie Rating: 5/10 – Alright

I enjoyed the first Wonder Woman movie well enough. And I’ve liked most of DC’s movie output since then, especially Aquaman and Shazam. But Wonder Woman 1984 is a real callback to the age of cheesy or bad superhero movies. I’ve seen a lot of people compare it to the Christopher Reeves Superman movies, or the original Wonder Woman TV show, but I don’t know enough about either to make that comparison. For me, this is more along the lines of Spider-Man 3, too full of stuff that just comes along and doesn’t work well together.

Join me after the jump for my thoughts and full review of Wonder Woman 1984. Expect FULL SPOILERS for the movie!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 12/19/20

Merry Christmas, everybody! And Happy Hannukah! And all the other winter holidays! This time next week, Christmas will have passed! I don’t yet know if I’ll be going home for Christmas, or who all will even be there if I do. But hopefully I’ll have a good time.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Batman #105 for a solid, enjoyable conclusion to the Ghost-Maker arc. I like how it ends, which was legitimately unexpected for me.

“That this city is full of people ready to believe in good…or something like that.”

Meanwhile, I’m still enjoying Cyberpunk 2077. I don’t know if I’ll do a review/list when I’m finished. It would have far more positives than gripes. I also just started watching The Owl House on Disney+ and it’s a ton of fun so far! I’m so glad I’m finding all these new cartoons since so many of my favorites ended recently.

Speaking of Disney+, how great was that season finale of The Mandalorian?! Also, I called it! I called the ending! It’s not often I actually manage to call something.

Comic Reviews: Batman #105, The Green Lantern: Season Two #10, Iron Man #4 and Power Rangers #2.

Wonder Woman 1984 is Right Around the Corner!

So Warner Bros. recently made the very bold decision that all of their major 2021 movies are going to release simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max. The first up is Wonder Woman 1984, which is coming out on Christmas Day. I can’t wait!

Personally, I’m kind of excited about this HBO Max thing. For one, it means I’ll get to see movies again, because I doubt theaters in my area will get to open anytime soon. For another…I dunno! I’m excited to see how it changes the upcoming movie landscape? I’m excited to see how it changes the world? I guess we’ll find out!

Meanwhile, early social media reactions to Wonder Woman 1984 have been very positive…but then those are usually overwhelmingly positive. But we have no reason to doubt them. The first Wonder Woman movie was good, and surely the filmmakers have grown and learned since then.
