Happy Thanksgiving from Gamer Girl & Vixen!

Happy Thanksgiving, henchies! I come to you with some exciting new artwork and news about my home-brewed comic book, Gamer Girl & Vixen! Not only are we shipping out issues to all of our Kickstarter backers (including some of you lovely people!), but we’re also on the verge of an even bigger couple of announcements!

But first, I wanted to share some of this amazing GG&V artwork from superstar artist Gemma Moody! We work her artsy fingers to the bone, and this is still the love she shows us!

We’re not ready to share the big news just yet, but this artwork was too good not to show off. I know I haven’t written about Gamer Girl & Vixen in awhile, but that’s going to change! I’m living the dream with a great creative team, and I want to shout it from the rooftops!

So keep your eyes peeled and glued to this blog for some big Gamer Girl & Vixen news next week! And we’ll have even more news after that. And even more after that! I’m making comics here, and it’s as much fun as I hoped it would be!

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!

Sean Ian Mills on the Podcastio

As I mentioned the other day, I was invited to join frequent commenter Maus Merryjest on his podcast, Geekamole, this week! They posted the episode Saturday afternoon, and if you’d like to take a listen, you’re more than welcome! Personally, I’ll never get used to how deep my voice sounds.

We talk about comics, like Teen Titans and Iceman, among many other comic related topics! Maus was even nice enough to let me plug my own comic, Gamer Girl & Vixen! It was a very fun experience and I think Maus and the Geekamole team for inviting me on!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 11/21/15

This is the week. There are a lot of good comics out this week, and I wish I’d found the time to get to even more of them, but this week is special because of the return of two of my favorite comics: Ms. Marvel and The Mighty Thor! These are some of the best in the industry right now, and their returns are most welcome!

But surprisingly, Comic Book of the Week goes to Astonishing Ant-Man #2! Another one of Marvel’s gems, the new issue of Ant-Man delivers a wonderfully entertaining issue that edges out the two more hotly anticipated comics because of the return of a recent favorite character of mine!

Let’s welcome back Miss Thing!

Many happy returns!

And as a special bonus later today, tune in to the Geekamole Youtube channel this afternoon as I join frequent Henchman commenter Maus Merryjest for his weekly pop culture podcast! We talk about Teen Titans, Iceman and much more! If you’ve ever wanted to listen to me talk about comics instead of reading them, now is your chance.

Doubly also, we’ve got some big Gamer Girl & Vixen news coming soon! And if you helped out my Kickstarter last summer, then your comics should be arriving very soon!

Comic Reviews: Astonishing Ant-Man #2, Huck #1, Mighty Thor #1, Ms. Marvel #1, Spider-Woman #1, Titans Hunt #2 and Vader Down #1.

Stingray is Back in the Saddle!

When it comes to comic books, I’m a very character-focused guy. I read the titles that my favorite characters appear in. Simple as that. And when one of my obscure favorites pops up in a random place, I celebrate a little inside.

Case in point, it seems that Stingray is going to join Deadpool’s team of mercs in February! It’s not exactly his usual sort of thing, but when you’re as obscure as Stingray, you take what you can get.

You can kind of make him out there in the back

I don’t know what the comic will be about, but I bet it will be humorous. And Stingray might even have a new, more technologically-advanced design to his costume! Looks like I might have to start reading a Deadpool comic again.

Also, while we’re on the subject, I love that Slapstick redesign! Now there’s an obscure character who needs to get more love.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 11/14/15

Comic reviews are back! After a whirlwind vacation in England, I’m back reading comics and sitting on my butt in America! I missed a lot of good titles last week (including the long-delayed Uncanny X-Men #600), but I’m hopefully going to make up for that with some solid comics this week. I’d review Uncanny X-Men #600…but I wasn’t impressed. It wasn’t worth the wait. And the new Extraordinary X-Men left me a little cold. Not a good time to be an X-Men fan, I don’t think.

Anyway, this week has a lot of goodies! We’ve got the All-New, All-Different Avengers, we’ve got the All-New Wolverine, we’ve got Web Warriors, and we’ve got a bunch of goodies from DC Comics. This was definitely a good week to come back to, I’d have to say. I missed comics!

Comic Book of the Week goes to All-New Wolverine #1. I rather liked this story, despite not being a particular fan of X-23. But I like the idea that she’s going to carry on Wolverine’s legacy.

It’s her favorite part

Plus, Angel makes for a really great sidekick.

Comic Reviews: All-New, All-Different Avengers #1, All-New Wolverine #1, Batman #46, Starfire #6 and Web Warriors #1.
