I Got Blurbed Again! But They Spelled It Wrong!

Good news, everybody! I have randomly discovered that one of my comic reviews has again been blurbed by Marvel, this time on the back of Volume 1 of Power Man and Iron Fist. I loved that comic, and I’m grateful that Marvel is paying some attention to me.

It’s just that…they spelled my website wrong!

Ignore my fingernails

It’s HenchmAn4Hire.com, Marvel! C’mon! I don’t ask for much! Heck, I don’t ask you for anything. I provide these positive reviews free of charge, and am giddy as a school girl that I’m getting recognized. But the least you can do is spell my website right.

I don’t get any warning or alert or notification when Marvel blurbs one of my reviews. I have discovered the Spider-Woman blurb and this new Power Man and Iron Fist blurb purely by chance, because I bought the tpbs. I could be on other tpb covers for all I know! So everybody go check any recent Marvel Comics graphic novels you’ve bought and see if I’m on any more!

Now to get the writers to sign my copies…

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 7/28/18

In fun Sean news, I cashed in some credit card rewards points the other day and splurged on an Amazon comic book shopping spree! I’ve got a whole pile of awesome graphic novels coming my way, as well as the Gwenpool action figure. Because I have a problem.

Meanwhile, we’ve got some pretty fun comics this week, including Bendis’ proper start on Action Comics, which I enjoyed more than Superman, and new issues for both Multiple Man and X-23, one of which I like a lot more than the other, and the answer may surprise me! Comic Book of the Week goes to the first issue of Mr. & Mrs. X because Kelly Thompson finally gave us a comic book wedding we could actually enjoy.

At least somebody in comics knows how to pull off a wedding

Elsewhere, I am not going to read any of Marvel’s Infinity Wars stuff that’s coming out, no matter how much I like Darkhawk and Richard Ryder as Nova. So whatever shocking things are happening in that stuff is beyond me. I got tricked into reading Civil War II. Never again!

Comic Reviews: Action Comics #1001, Amazing Spider-Man #2, Mr. and Mrs. X #1, Multiple Man #2, and and X-23 #2.

6 Best Superheroes With Portal Powers

Now we’re thinking with portals! One of my absolute favorite comic book villains is often mocked to no end for being one of the lamer bad guys, despite the fact that he has one of the coolest powers in all of comics. We’ll get to him further down on this list, but it’s always grinded my gears that he gets mocked when his powers are legit amazing.

So I’ve put together this list of awesome characters with the same power to prove how cool it is!

Portal Powers List 01

Think like this!

That power is teleportation via portals. Have you ever played the video game Portal? How much fun is that game? You rend the fabric of space to create a hole and then pass through to an adjoining hole. It’s super neat! And it’s super fun! And there’s a bunch of superheroes and villains with the power.

Join me after the jump as I prove to you with solid evidence that portal powers are the best!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 7/21/18

Holy cow! San Diego Comic-Con is in full effect, with so much comic book news spiraling out that I haven’t had time to keep track of it all! Grant Morrison on a police procedural Green Lantern? Sign me up! G. Willow Wilson on Wonder Woman! Kelly Sue DeConnick on Aquaman! Christos Gage on Superior Octopus! These are gonna be some fun comics!

I skipped a couple of my regular comics this week because I was pretty busy, but I made sure to grab my favorites, like Batman, Power Rangers and Runaways. Comic Book of the Week goes to the second issue of Tony Stark – Iron Man, because I am loving this series!

Meanwhile, there was another courtroom scene in this week’s batch of comics, in Tom King’s Batman. Only this time, I didn’t have any problems with it whatsoever! Unlike that Squirrel Girl issue last week, for which I got especially nitpicky. This week’s Batman handles the courtroom scene quite well, from my experience.

Comic Reviews: Batman #51, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #29, Runaways #11, Thor #3 and Tony Stark – Iron Man #2.

SDCC Kicks Off With Scary Dark Titans Trailer!

I am very excited for live action Robin on the new TV show Titans. So I’m also very excited to see this thing for myself. Well the first trailer has arrived to kick off San Diego Comic-Con, and it’s dark and brutal as all hell!

It’s like…how do we go for the complete opposite of Teen Titans Go! on every conceivable level? I think it’s a bold choice, and not one I’m very confident that DC can pull off.

But hey, it’s a serious, live action Robin, so you better believe I’m going to give it a chance! This sort of thing only comes around once in a generation! Hopefully DC doesn’t screw it up like they did with Chris O’Donnell.

Also in SDCC news from DC Comics, Grant Morrison is coming back to write a police procedural Green Lantern comic, and I near about blew my lid! That is, like, everything I could possibly want from Green Lantern comics. I’m really excited about this one!
