A Good Yoda Cartoon is a Good Way to Start a Monday

The Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures shorts are still coming out, and they’re still great! This one is about Yoda’s full journey.

I need to write more meaningful articles again. I had a busy past two weeks, but things have calmed down and I need to get back to work! I didn’t even write anything about James Gunn getting re-instated for Guardians of the Galaxy 3! This is exactly what I hoped would happen, that Disney was just waiting for the dust to settle before course-correcting. I’m so happy he’s back!

How Into the Spider-Verse Should Have Ended

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is a true masterpiece and deservedly won that Oscar. So let’s poke some fun at it! Legitimately, at times, thanks to the How It Should Have Ended people!

Some good jokes there! Though if I can be that guy, a webline isn’t retractable, and Doc Ock needed time to repair the collider, which is why they couldn’t re-do the experiment that day. Though I did love the alternate reality Kingpin seeking revenge joke!

Also, if I haven’t made this clear enough, but I very much dislike the cafe tradition. Stop using your jokey versions of Batman and Superman as a crutch! You’re better than that! You’re funnier than that! Your Spider-Man jokes were great this episode!

Although I will admit the Into the Bat-Verse ending was pretty fun.

Animated Hulk and Chucky!

I feel behind on following the fine dude at Tell It Animated, so let’s check out a couple of them! The dude found some sponsorship and is now producing even better videos, so good for him!

First up is the Incredible Hulk!

And then Chucky, the killer doll!

Did you know there’s been a whole bunch of Chucky movies lately, all following the same ongoing storyline? I didn’t until I saw this video. Who ever even heard of Cult of Chucky? Anyway, the Chucky movies are getting rebooted, so it don’t matter too much anymore!

6 Other Marvel Cartoon Ideas, If We’re Gonna Get Weird With It

A couple weeks ago, Marvel and Hulu announced an animated partnership with a truly weird lineup of shows. Howard the Dark? Hit-Monkey? M.O.D.O.K.? A random team up of Dazzler and Tigra? There is no logic in this place! Clearly the driving force behind these shows was to get as esoteric as possible. They wanted to get weird with it!

So let’s get weird with it, too!

Marvel's The Offenders

This is already pretty weird

I will readily grant that whoever came up with these show ideas picked some truly wild characters. But they’re only scratching the surface of how weird Marvel can get! Join me after the jump as I put my extensive comic book knowledge to the test and come up with six other Marvel cartoon ideas, if we’re gonna get weird with it!

Dazzler, M.O.D.O.K., Howard the Duck and More Are Coming to Marvel Animation

I don’t even know how to respond to this news other than shock and amusement. After cancelling a couple of their live action Netflix shows, Marvel has now announced a slate of five animated shows coming to Hulu.

M.O.D.O.K., Howard the Duck, Hit Monkey, a random Tigra and Dazzler team-up, and then a combination show called The Offenders.

Marvel's The Offenders

This doesn’t look hastily thrown together at all

This feels like an April Fool’s Day prank.

How do any of these shows make sense? Why are they going to Hulu? Has Marvel already forgotten their Disney+ streaming service coming down the line? And with a name like The Offenders, are they purposefully trying to annoy Netflix, the biggest name in streaming?

There is no logic in this place.

More information is available at Marvel.com. And here’s a rundown of each series:

  • M.O.D.O.K.:  An egomaniacal Super Villain with a really big head and a really little body, struggles to maintain control of his evil organization and his demanding family. Comes from writers Jordan Blum and Patton Oswalt, with Blum, Oswalt and Jeph Loeb serving as Executive Producers
  • Hit Monkey: Tells the tale of a wronged Japanese snow monkey, mentored by the ghost of an American assassin, as he cuts a wide swath through the Tokyo underworld in this darkly cinematic and brutally funny revenge saga. Comes from writers Josh Gordon and Will Speck, with Gordon, Speck and Jeph Loeb serving as Executive Producers.
  • Tigra & Dazzler Show: Two woke Super Heroes and best friends, Tigra and Dazzler, fight for recognition among powered people who make up the eight million stories in Los Angeles. Comes from writers Erica Rivinoja and Chelsea Handler, with Rivinoja, Handler, and Jeph Loeb serving as Executive Producers.
  • Howard the Duck: Trapped in a world he never made, America’s favorite fighting fowl Howard the Duck hopes to return home with the help of his unstoppable gal pal Beverly before the evil Dr. Bong can turn him the crispiest dish on the menu. Comes from writersKevin Smith and Dave Willis, with Smith, Willis, and Jeph Loeb serving as Executive Producers.
  • The Offenders:  Nobody asked them to, and we’d be better off if they didn’t, but M.O.D.O.K., Dazzler, Tigra, Hit Monkey and Howard the Duck are all forced to team up in order to save the world and certain parts of the Universe.

Honestly, this all sounds like Jeph Loeb is off on some crazy side project without anybody else at Marvel or Disney having any idea what he’s doing.

I am mildly curious to see just what the heck all of this is about. What are your thoughts?
