The Top 6 Superheroes Where Wings Are Their Whole Thing
I’m still reeling from the pretty horrendous plane rides I had on vacation a couple of weeks ago, so why not do a List of Six about flying? Fat guys are not meant for coach seats. And don’t blame me! My family paid for First Class, but they canceled our flight and bumped us back to coach. Anyway, flying comic book characters? Everybody can fly. But not everybody can fly with big, pretty bird wings!
Lots of comic book characters also have wings. But a special few of those characters only really have wings. Sure, they may have some additional powers on the side, but I’ve gathered together a group of comic superheroes whose main things is big, beautiful wings. I have nothing against characters whose main power is wings. I bet it’s a neat power.
So join me after the jump to celebrate comic book superheroes whose biggest and best deal is having wings!

I am a huge fan of the super villain The Spot from Spider-Man’s Rogues Gallery. From his cool powers to his underdog nature to his awesome episode of the Spider-Man cartoon from the 1990s, I just did The Spot. He never gets much respect, but hot damn, he’s just been revealed as the villain in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming out later this year!
All we have so far is this promotional image, which looks great. The Spot is going to be voiced by Jason Schwartzman, so that’s cool too. And we learned of a couple other new characters who are going to show up. I’m not going to spoil those, because spoiling The Spot is good enough for me.
Holy cow, you guys, this may lead to me getting to own a really awesome Spot action figure! Or a Spot LEGO set! Across the Spider-Verse is going to be huge and now it’s The Spot’s time to shine!

Behold, Our First Full Look at Starfield
Starfield is coming! Let the hype construction begin. Bethesda, the makers of the Fallout and Elder Scrolls game, is looking to do the exact same thing with the sci-fi/space genre with Starfield. And at a big video game presentation yesterday, we got a big, chunky look at Starfield.
I love everything about this video. I love the Fallout games and I love Skyrim. So if they’re going to do the same exact thing, with a new genre, I am totally there. Granted, there have been similar games before, like Outer Worlds, which I very much enjoyed. But if Bethesda themselves give it a try, I think it’ll be even better.
Fallout meets No Man’s Sky? Yes, please!
I won’t be buying the latest X-Box, though, so I might need to upgrade my PC by the time Starfield comes out sometime next year.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 6/11/22
Welcome back to comic book reviews! I skipped last week because of my hellish problems flying back from a California vacation, so now we’re back with some good quality comics, like Amazing Spider-Man and Mighty Morphin.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Poison Ivy #1 for being a really strong start to the new series by G. Willow Wilson. Maybe DC has finally found something stable to do with the character.
Meanwhile, I loved the first episode of Ms. Marvel. It was exactly what I was hoping it would be! I’m currently playing through Sniper Elite 5. I love those games, and the new one is another fine entry. And I’ve decided not to bother with Dark Crisis at DC Comics. I might read it on my own, but the first official issue didn’t do much for me, and I don’t want to spend time just dragging it through the mud in this review column.
Comic Reviews: Amazing Spider-Man #3, Legion of X #2, Mighty Morphin #20 and Poison Ivy #1.
Read the rest of this entryA Metric Ton of Upcoming Movie Trailers!
Between my being on vacation last week and a bunch of big movies coming out, we’ve been getting a metric ton of new movie trailers recently. I love movie trailers and I love sharing them. I’ve already shared a couple this week with stand alone posts, because I thought they deserved it. But these are the ones I’ve been sitting on, and they’re taking up too much room on my bookmarks bar. So let’s just get them out of the way!
I will post them in descending order from my interest.
First up is a new trailer for NOPE, Jordan Peele’s new horror movie. Be warned, this might have more spoilers than you might normally like in such a trailer.
I’m definitely excited for this one. Jordan Peele is making some great movies, and this one looks especially spooky and wild. I’m always down for a new take on mysterious alien appearances in the sky. NOPE comes to theaters on July 22.
Next up is Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe. This one should be great!
I was slow to get into the Beavis and Butt-Head cartoon back in the day because I definitely wasn’t an MTV teenager. But I loved what I saw, and especially loved their original Do America movie. So with Mike Judge coming back and the duo not being overdone in recent years, I think Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe could be really neat! It’s coming to Paramount+ on June 23.
How about a new movie in the Predator series? How about Prey?
I like the look of this one as well! I’m no big Predator fanatic, and most of the ones I’ve seen have been terrible. But I’m totally down for the idea of a back-to-basics Predator movie where those alien hunters take on some Comanche Native Americans. That idea has a ton of potential. And we’ll see how much potential when Prey comes to Hulu on Aug. 5.
Next we have a new trailer for Bullet Train, the really cool looking Brad Pitt movie coming out this summer. This trailer also reveals a lot more about the plot and characters, so be careful if you’re trying to avoid all spoilers.
Bullet Train looks like somebody watched Knives Out and decided to make their own version, and I am 100% in favor of that. Knives Out was a masterpiece, and more movies could use that type of energy. Brad Pitt going nuts on a train full of charismatic assassins sounds perfect to me. I’m definitely excited for this one. Bullet Train comes to theaters on Aug. 5!
Let’s keep it going! Next up is Strange World, the teaser for the next Disney animated movie.
I think Disney Animation is knocking it out of the park these days. I think I like their movies more than Pixar. So I’m definitely going to get my hopes up for Strange World. The movie definitely shows us a pretty strange world. We’ll find out what they do with it in theaters on Nov. 23.
Oof. I’m already getting tired. So let’s just rush through the last couple of trailers I still have. We’ve got Three Thousand Years of Longing, Beast and Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning: Part 1.
All look pretty cool. I’m especially excited to see Three Thousand Years of Longing, the new George Miller film that will be his follow-up to Mad Max: Fury Road. Can we deliver that same insane magic? I bet he can!
So yeah, it’s safe to say that movies are back and we’ve got so many to look forward to! More of these trailers are original properties than not. And none are Marvel movies. So it’s also safe to say that non-superhero movies are allowed to exist!
