The Marvels Looks Pretty Neat in its First Trailer

Our first look at The Marvels is here! The first trailer/teaser debuted today and it looks to be something of a hoot. Mostly I’m here for Kamala Khan to start interacting with the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, but I’m also here for all of it.

As a teaser, this is a nice look at what we’re going to get in this movie. The premise that the three main characters are switching places when they use their powers is an interesting choice. I don’t know if it works for me quite yet. But if it means putting Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel into weird situations, I’m all for it.

This first trailer looks good and I’m as excited for this movie as I am for any Marvel movie these days — which is very excited. I’m also very excited for Ms. Marvel season 2. Get on that, Marvel!

The Marvels comes to theaters in November.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 2/18/23

Everything’s coming up Milhouse! What an excellent week for comics, my friends! Oddly, none of the DC titles I’m currently reading came out this week. But a metric ton of Marvel comics I’m into did! So we’ve got new Fantastic Four, X-Men, Invincible Iron Man and more!

Comic Book of the Week goes to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #105 because this series continues to be simply my favorite. Especially thanks to cute and funny moments like this.

Prepare for robot fights

Meanwhile, if you’re reading this the day it’s posted, I’ll be going to see Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania today! I’m excited, because I like the Ant-Man movies. It’s getting some mixed reviews, but all those reviews point to a movie that I’m still likely to enjoy. I wasn’t able to see it opening night because I was still at work. Ain’t that a kicker? But it should be fun, and I’ll post my review/thoughts on Wednesday.

Comic Reviews: Fantastic Four #4, Invincible Iron Man #3, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #105, Monica Rambeau: Photon #3, Wasp #3 and X-Men #19.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 1/14/23

My friends, this has been a week. I had to take my car in for some repairs and that cost me an arm and a leg. And then the repair shop messed up my automatic seat adjuster, which was already pretty fragile. So I’m not only out a lot of money this week, but now my seat is stuck in a somewhat uncomfortable way! I need to buy a new car, but in this economy? In this market? Ugh. Anyway, this is all to say I didn’t get to too many comics this week out of sheer sadness.

Comic Book of the Week goes to X-Men #18 because it was the better of the two I actually managed to read and review this week. It’s an OK story.

That’s too bad

Meanwhile, I haven’t played with my new Playstation 5 yet, because I want to finish Pokemon Violet before moving on to a new game. So that’s just collecting dust. And I finished Wednesday, which was really good. Basically trying to find anything to lessen the pain of this past week.

Comic Reviews: Monica Rambeau: Photon #2 and X-Men #18.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 12/17/22

Interesting week for new comics! Not too much on my read list this week, but I got to try out some new titles that launched from Marvel. There’s a new Invincible Iron Man, by Gerry Duggan, and then Monica Rambeau’s first ongoing solo series. Both are solid starting points.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Monica Rambeau: Photon #1 because I felt it was the stronger, more interesting of the two.

Photon needs a rogues gallery

Meanwhile, I’ve started playing Marvel’s Midnight Suns and it’s pretty fun so far. I loved the X-Com games, and I kinda wish this was more like those. But it’s solid as its own thing, so no real complaints. I’ve also been playing a ton of Marvel Snap, so I’m just up to my eyeballs in Marvel video games right now. I’m also heading to see Avatar: The Way of Water this weekend, so hopefully that will be nice.

Comic Reviews: The Invincible Iron Man #1, Legion of X #8 and Monica Rambeau: Photon #1.
