Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 11/8/25

I don’t know what’s been up with me lately! This is the least I’ve posted in years! There just aren’t any good trailers to share I guess. Oh well. There will always be new comics to read and review! Like Batman and Void Rivals!

Comic Book of the Week goes to Cheetah & Cheshire Rob the Justice League #4 because it remains a consistently great comic!

He’s learning STEM

Meanwhile, I continue to pace my way through Ghost of Yotei. Super fun game. Getting everything I want out of it. Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed for an entire year, so that sucks. And I’ve started playing Dispatch, which is super fun! All around good time! By the time you read this, I’ll also have been to the theater to watch Predator: Badlands. Hopefully that’s good too!

Double meanwhile, the Kickstarter is still ongoing for LobStar #1 from Very Big Comics! It’s made by my amateur comic-making pals and could definitely use some love! They’ve already hit the goal and will definitely be making the comic, and now any additional backers will help fund more of the ongoing story! So check it out, if you don’t mind.

Comic Reviews: Absolute Superman #13, Batman #3, Cheetah & Cheshire Rob the Justice League #4, Void Rivals #24, Amazing Spider-Man #15 and DC K.O. Knightfight #1.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 4/26/25

Another week has come and gone and another batch of comics is upon us. A ton of books I’m reading came out this week, and somehow I found the time to review a whole bunch of them, including Absolute Martian Manhunter, Batman: Hush 2 and Amazing Spider-Man.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Absolute Wonder Woman, which shouldn’t be a surprise, because few things can touch this comic other than the regular Wonder Woman book and the other main Absolutes.

It’s an arena arc

Meanwhile, I finished The Pitt last night and it definitely lived up to all the hype its been getting! Excellent medical drama. And I’m winding down on Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and am in need of another game. Possibly that Elder Scrolls: Oblivion remaster…

Double meanwhile, the Kickstarter campaign remains ongoing for The Museum of the Uncanny anthology! I’ve got a short comic story in the book and we’re doing well as we head into the final weeks of the campaign! Force me to put my money where my mouth is! I spend all this time reviewing comics, come and read one I’ve written myself!

Comic Reviews: Absolute Martian Manhunter #2, Absolute Wonder Woman #7, Amazing Spider-Man #2, Batman #159, G.I. Joe #6 and X-Men #15.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 6/29/24

I’m back with more reviews this week! Some of my favorite comics came out and I decided to write about them on this here blog thing. Comics like Power Rangers and Superman!

Comic Book of the Week goes to Void Rivals #10 for some reveals that were legitimately surprising and interesting, tying this series to the Energon Universe at long last.

Springer might be my new favorite Transformer

Meanwhile, I keep buying graphic novels and then just adding them to my pile of GNs to read. I really need to read some of them and talk about them in this space. I should be making recommendations of random graphic novels I enjoy! That would definitely be a better use of my time.

Comic Reviews: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #121, Superman #15 and Void Rivals #10.

We Now Have the Details on the New G.I.Joe Comic

I’ve been reading as many of the new Energon Universe comics as I can, because I liked the idea, I loved the creators, and I’m always open to new things to read. I’ve enjoyed them pretty much across the board. So I’m excited to see everything finally coming together into the new G.I.Joe comic, announced yesterday.

G.I.Joe will be written by Joshua Williamson, with art by Tom Reilly and Jordie Bellaire! It comes out in November!

Red lasers vs. Blue lasers

I am fully on board! Williamson has been on fire for me lately, and I enjoyed all the set up he put into the Duke mini-series. I loved the first issue of Scarlett. Cobra Commander was solid. I haven’t read Destro yet. But Transformers is great, and Void Rivals is awesome. So I can’t wait to see them start bringing so much of it together for G.I.Joe.

No sign of Snake Eyes yet, the best Joe. I’m confident they’re saving him for something good!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 4/13/24

My readership numbers have been going down lately. Is anybody actually reading and enjoying these reviews? I know I don’t have any particularly interesting insights, but I do enjoy talking about comics. Including ThunderCats and Transformers!

Comic Book of the Week is Action Comics #1064, kicking off an awesome new Superman story that was teased some time ago.

More interesting part of this soccer match

Meanwhile, I’m still recovering from Episode 5 of X-Men ’97. Holy heck this show is good! And i’ve started watching Fallout, which is awesome. We’re feasting good these days! In the video game world, a friend of mine got me onto Evil Genius 2, which is a fun base-builder. It’s a nice game to lose a couple hours to.

Comic Reviews: Action Comics #1064, ThunderCats #3 and Transformers #7.
