Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 7/11/26
Can you believe another week of comics has come and gone? I missed last week because I was away for the holiday. And I’m back this week with the likes of Absolute Batman and Fury of Firestorm.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Daredevil #4 for the most exciting shock ending.
Meanwhile, did I mention that I watched and very much enjoyed Widow’s Bay? Great show! Lives up to all the hype and word of mouth it’s getting. I’m currently working my way through Maniac, a Netflix show from a few years ago. Not great, but alright. And I recently finished reading all Dunk and Egg novellas from the Game of Thrones universe. Those were fun. Should make for some entertaining future seasons of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 6/20/26
Here we go again! More comics! More of our lives wasting away! Another Saturday has arrived and no, I’m not going to see Toy Story 5 in theaters. I just can’t bring myself to worry about that right now, not when I’ve got Amazing Spider-Man and Absolute Green Arrow!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Absolute Batman #21 because we finally get to see the Absolute Robins in action, and then the whole rest of the issue is neat as well.
Meanwhile, been a busy week for me, so I haven’t had much else going on. Still enjoying the heck out of Crimson Desert. Finally started the second season of The Pitt. And I’ve started reading the Dunk and Egg novellas from George R.R. Martin. Hopefully all these things remain fun and entertaining as they play out.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 5/16/26
This was an oddly rough week and I didn’t get to read all of the comics I wanted. Or I did read them, like Absolute Martian Manhunter, but was too lost in the sauce to do a proper review. So you’re stuck with classic standbys like Iron Man and Fury of Firestorm.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Absolute Batman #20, because you don’t change an industry without being able to maintain quality at your 20th issue. Plus Robins.
Meanwhile, your boy remains deep in the paint on Crimson Desert. Loving the game. Been playing for weeks and I still feel like I’ve barely sank my teeth into it. Just enjoying the pedantic stuff like building up my camp, taking care of animals, exploring and all the good stuff. I’ve got a long weekend, though, so maybe I’ll try to dive in deeper. Beyond that, I really enjoyed The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins and Rooster!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 4/19/26
Comics! You love’em. I love’em. What’s not to love? Especially when we’ve got some solid bangers like Wonder Woman and Batwoman to celebrate this week.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Absolute Batman #19 for a pretty much perfect comic, kicking off the big new storyline with style and pizzazz.
Meanwhile, the Museum of the Uncanny Kickstarter campaign is in its final week! They’ve got a ways to go to hit their goal, but I know they can do it and I know you lovely readers will check out the campaign and give some support to some indie comic creators! That’s what we’re all about!
Double meanwhile, I splurged and bought myself Crimson Desert and I’m definitely enjoying the game. I still feel like I’m taking it slow, considering everything I’m seeing online. But it’s a fun action RPG with a big open world to explore! Beyond that, I’m enjoying Daredevil: Born Again, enjoying Maul: Shadow Lord and the season 3 finale of Shrinking was wonderful.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 3/14/26
Can you believe we got to go another week with new comics coming out? How exciting! Especially since it’s stuff like Power Rangers Prime and the new X-Men United.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Absolute Batman, which is earning it’s once-a-generation, industry-defining status.
Meanwhile, the second volume of The Museum of the Uncanny anthology from Very Big Comics is coming to Kickstarter soon! The landing page is already up, so click the “Notify Me” button to help build some pre-launch attention. I had a short story in the first volume, but nothing in this one, but I will always support my comic-making buds and I hope you do too! Check it out!
