Aquaman and Kite-Man, Hell Yeah!
A pair of trailers for some really fun DC projects dropped yesterday and both were pretty cool. We got the first trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and it looks pretty insane. I’m not sure if it looks like a great film, or if it looks like the slapdash movie we all fear it’s going to be.
This trailer is a lot. There’s so much going on, and a bunch of it seems like an odd choice. I know it’s a classic trope to have the villain of the first film come back as a pal in the second, but are Arthur and Orm really going to be that key of a buddy pair? Was their relationship really that powerful in the first film that we want to see them team up? At least Jason Momoa looks like he’s having fun. And Black Manta looks cool as heck.
My only nitpick is that, while the trailer does reference the seven kingdoms, I didn’t catch any specific mention or tease of this titular lost kingdom. Shouldn’t that be a bigger plot point?
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom comes to theaters on Dec. 20.
Meanwhile, on the little screen, we’ve got the first trailer for Kite-Man, Hell Yeah!, the spin-off from the excellent Harley Quinn cartoon. This looks like a ton of fun.
I really love the Harley Quinn cartoon, even if I’m many episodes behind on its new fourth season. Kite-Man has been a super fun character, and I am very much looking forward to this show. It should be a hoot and a half.
Kite-Man, Hell Yeah! comes to Max sometime next year.

Conan O’Brien Does Good Travel TV
It’s a quiet Friday. I’ve got a half day at work and plan to spend the rest of my day back in Hyrule. So how about this old trailer for the upcoming Conan O’Brien Must Go TV show? He had some great travel segments on his last talk show, and they’re turning that into a whole show!
Seriously, those travel segments were great, if you can find them on YouTube. He’d visit other countries and just have fun with it. And this new show looks to be the same thing, so I’m fully on board. No release date yet, but hopefully soon. The dude is still funny.

Here’s that Sweet Mario Kart Parody Trailer from SNL
I don’t have much to share this Monday, with no new movie trailers or anything of that nature to talk about. So how about we just watch that sweet, gritty Mario Kart parody trailer from Saturday Night Live this past weekend. Does anybody still watch that show live on Saturday nights?
This is fun stuff. Great work by the graphics department at SNL, for sure. And Pedro Pascal kills it as gritty Mario. I’m loving The Last of Us on HBO, like everybody else. And this was a great parody for pull off for Pascal’s guest appearance on SNL. Obviously, this isn’t the first gritty, post-apocalyptic Mario re-imagining on the internet, but it’s fun when some actual work goes into it from a major media outlet.

Sexy Harley Quinn Valentine’s Day Special!
I very much enjoy the Harley Quinn cartoon. It’s funny, raunchy, silly and full of comic book goodness. It’s the best animated Batman-verse in years, if not decades. And while we wait for the fourth season, there’s going to be a one-off Valentine’s Day special next month. And it’s gonna be sexy!
Can’t wait to watch. And now you all know that it’s happening, so you can’t blame me if you miss it. Just keep your eyes peeled to HBO Max on Feb. 9.

The Last of Us Will Hopefully Be A Good Show
We got a full trailer for the upcoming The Last of Us TV show, and while it’s a fun trailer, it’s not as good as that moody, musical first trailer we got. But hey, the show still looks good, with some quality CGI fungus zombies to entertain us.
I have high hopes for this show — just like I have high hopes for most shows — and I expect good things. I’m hoping they fit the entire first game into the first season, but they’ll probably split it in half or something. Or maybe we’ll get 11 long seasons like The Walking Dead. I don’t know. We’ll find out!
The Last of Us comes to HBO on Jan. 15…which is a little more than a month away! Wow!
