Stingray is Back in the Saddle!

When it comes to comic books, I’m a very character-focused guy. I read the titles that my favorite characters appear in. Simple as that. And when one of my obscure favorites pops up in a random place, I celebrate a little inside.

Case in point, it seems that Stingray is going to join Deadpool’s team of mercs in February! It’s not exactly his usual sort of thing, but when you’re as obscure as Stingray, you take what you can get.

You can kind of make him out there in the back

I don’t know what the comic will be about, but I bet it will be humorous. And Stingray might even have a new, more technologically-advanced design to his costume! Looks like I might have to start reading a Deadpool comic again.

Also, while we’re on the subject, I love that Slapstick redesign! Now there’s an obscure character who needs to get more love.

The 6 Most Awesome Dogs in Comic Books

Once upon a time, I wrote up a pretty fun List of Six about the coolest cats in comic books. It’s one of my favorites, because I’m a big cat person. But it’s only fair that turn about be fair play and I write a list about cat’s arch-enemies: dogs!

And to think you had forgotten this existed

Just like those furry felines, there are a ton of pet dogs in comics. There are classic comic strip canines, like Odie or Marmaduke or Snoopy, but I’m more interested in comic book pooches. Who are the super-dogs? Or at least the sidekick schnauzers?

Join me after the jump for the six coolest canines in comic books!

The Deadpool Trailer Has Finally Arrived!

The first full trailer for the Deadpool movie debuted on Conan last night, and I’m only going to post the Red Band version, because this is the Internet!

I like it…or at least I think I like it. I want to like Deadpool, the character, but he’s attained a strange level of annoying to me in recent years. That’s evident in this trailer, as well as in his monthly comics. It also doesn’t help that I watched the leaked trailer from Comic-Con, so some of the jokes and gags were already spoiled. But the costume looks great, the action looks crazy, and I’m generally a fan of Ryan Reynolds.

I’m also really curious what regular, non-comics reading folks think of this trailer…What’d you henchies think? Yay? Nay? Sound off in them there comments!

Deadpool’s Movie Costume Looks Unreal

The official Deadpool movie costume was revealed today by actor Ryan Reynolds, and am I the only one who thinks it looks like a highly detailed CGI rendering? This thing looks unreal!

Isn’t he supposed to be naked on a rug like that?

But if it is real, then kudos on everybody for making the costume comic book accurate. Deadpool has a fun costume, and we all know how horribly Hollywood could have screwed it up. We remember. I like the look, and I like the humor behind it.

Thanks to Henchman Javier for the tip off about the costume!

Pretty Rad Deadpool Test Footage

I had no idea this existed, but here it is: Deadpool movie test footage. Rumors and theories about a Deadpool movie starring Ryan Reynolds have been floating around Hollywood for ages. Well apparently, some time ago, some people put together this CGI footage of Deadpool being goofy and killing some thugs. It’s not half bad.

I’ve got my own problems with Deadpool. They are massive and varied. But I won’t go into them here. Based on this footage, I bet it could make for a really good movie. Who’s to say?
