Internet Spider-Man Medley!

There’s a new Spider-Man movie coming out this weekend, and I plan on seeing it one of these days. So to get us all juiced up, how about a medley of mockery? I’m, of course, talking about Cinema Sins hitting us with Everything Wrong With the original Spider-Man trilogy!

Good times! I hope you all enjoy Amazing Spider-Man 2. I’ll have my review up on Sunday, I think. See you then!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 4/19/14

This week was another wallet-busting week of comics. I may have to hold back on my caviar sandwiches if I hope to afford all of them! Fortunately, that means there were a lot of good comics in my pile this week, and I love me some good comics.

Plus, there were a whole bunch of DC titles that I read this week! We’ve got reviews for Batman, Wonder Woman and Batwoman, as if they all combined somehow. There’s also the latest issues of Batman Eternal and Harley Quinn, as well as the first issue of the new Sinestro solo series! Now there is a character I’m excited about!

On the Marvel side of things, the final issue of Superior Spider-Man hit the stands and it is…a nice conclusion. It’s not as amazing as I was hoping it would be. Instead, it seems more like Dan Slott and Marvel are in a rush to get to the new status quo of the new Amazing Spider-Man. Can’t say I blame them. We’ve also got new issues of Uncanny X-Men and the utterly fantastic Ms. Marvel, which wins Comic Book of the Week for sheer greatness and adorability.

She also uses ‘Embiggen’, making her the coolest teenager ever

I wonder what a younger, superhero-loving Sean would think about the fact that one of my favorite comics right now is about the awkward youth of a teenage girl. Of course, Young Sean was a big fan of The Secret World of Alex Mack, so there is a precedence.

Comic Reviews: Batman #30, Batman Eternal #2, Batwoman #30, Harley Quinn #5, Ms. Marvel #3, Sinestro #1, Superior Spider-Man #31, Uncanny X-Men #20 and Wonder Woman #30.

Spider-Verse is Coming This Fall!

The next big Spider-Man comic book event was revealed today as Spider-Verse! It’s coming this fall by regular Spider-Man writer Dan Slott, and apparently involves every single version of Spider-Man that has ever existed teaming up to take on Morlun, one of Spidey’s more recent and brutal bad guys!

I see you there, Scarlet Spider

That’s a sweet picture. You can click HERE to get an even bigger, better one!

Newsamara had the scoop today as Slott and a few other Marvel honchos talked about the event. It’s going to feature 1,000s of Spideys, including some that Slott’s going to make up for the event – not that there aren’t dozens upon dozens already circling the Multiverse. They’re gonna team up against some great threat, with Morlun first to the plate. I was reading Amazing Spider-Man back when Morlun first showed up, and he was definitely pretty monstrous back then, though I’m pretty sure he’s mellowed a bit since. Perhaps Slott will make him scary again.

All of this sounds reasonably cool, though not exactly something that gets me personally excited. I’ve never been one for big, cosmic Spider-Man stories, though I’m sure it’ll be a blast to see all the various alternate Spideys. That might be worth the price of admission alone.

I definitely see some Slingers in there!

New Trailers for Things We Love!

This is going to be a week of movie trailers, and the world kicks things off with new, exciting trailers for Amazing Spider-Man 2Game of Thrones and Godzilla! Seriously, these are three pretty wicked trailers. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

First up, the last trailer for Amazing Spider-Man 2, with a bigger focus on the Green Goblin and Rhino.

With each new trailer, this movie just looks better and better.

Now a quick trailer for season 4 of Game of Thrones with some new footage, a new song and a whole bunch of excitement!

Then we have the international trailer for Godzilla, with again, some new footage and a whole bunch of excitement. I’m not so sure about the song in this one though. Can we get someone in maintenance to take a look at it?

So which are you guys and gals more excited for? New Spider-Man, new Game of Thrones or new Godzilla? I’m torn.

Will Spider-Man 2 Magic Strike Twice?

The video game adaptation of Spider-Man 2 is one of the greatest superhero video games ever made. So what about the video game adaptation of Amazing Spider-Man 2?

I never played the video game for the first Amazing Spider-Man. But I have faith that the magic of the number ‘2’ will make this game especially great. Seems to star Kraven for some reason. Kraven is always fun.
