6 Silly Daredevil Villains Who Probably Won’t Appear on Netflix

The new Daredevil TV show premieres in only a few days, and early reviews praise it as a phenomenal show that captures the darkness and the grit that comes with the character. Daredevil is a different sort of program than the humor and action packed Avengers movies, while still maintaining that Marvel quality. Vincent D’Onofrio’s performance as the Kingpin is being hailed as a showstopper.

The story of a blind attorney who fights crime in Hell’s Kitchen, Daredevil has consistently been one of Marvel’s best comics — but there’s probably a lot of Daredevil history that’s going to be left on the cutting room floor.

Lady Bullseye is a real thing

For all the great Kingpin stories out there, and the legendary comic runs by Frank Miller and Brian Michael Bendis, Daredevil had his fair share of silliness back in the day. Characters like the Owl and Gladiator are set to premiere in the first season, and classic foes like Bullseye and Elektra are probably shoe-ins for the second season, but beyond those characters, Daredevil’s Rogues Gallery doesn’t have a very deep bench.

Join me after the jump to check out the 6 silliest Daredevil villains, none of whom are probably going to make it into the new Netflix show.

6 Page Preview of Gamer Girl & Vixen #1

It has been awhile since I posted Gamer Girl & Vixen news, so prepare for a mother load! We are proud to present to you a preview of Gamer Girl & Vixen #1. Here are the first 6 pages of our comic. These will be part of the finished product, and introduce both of our main characters.

The first issue is almost complete, and will hopefully be done by the end of the month. From there, we’re planning to finally launch our Kickstarter campaign in May to produce a second issue, and then to print and ship both issues to our backers. We’re nearing the final stretch to get our comic off the ground and into your hands!

But first we need your help! I know some of you readers are fellow bloggers, with your own comic book blogs. If anyone is willing to host these preview pages on their own blog to help spread the word of Gamer Girl & Vixen, please let me know. You can leave a comment at the bottom of this page or shoot me an email at GamerGirlandVixen@gmail.com. The only way my comic can succeed is if we get the word out, so I would greatly appreciate any help with this.

If you’d like to follow along more closely with the production, you can visit our new website www.gamergirlandvixen.com!

Now without further ado, join me after the jump for the rest of the preview! And let me know what you think in the comments! Thank you!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 4/4/15

I come to you now at the turn of the tides. For the next two months, DC Comics is going to be doing a big Convergence crossover, taking their entire line of comics and doing a bunch of weird alternate reality things that I have simply not kept up with. I have no idea if I’m going to review any DC Comics for the next two months. I might check a few of them out individually, maybe haphazardly and randomly, but I just don’t know for sure.

(Although Greg Rucka’s Renee Montoya comic is an absolute must!)

So we’re going to spend this week saying goodbye to a few of DC’s regular releases. Not only do we (finally!) have the last issue of Batman Eternal, but Batman and Robin comes to an end with a rather amazing Annual issue. It won’t be back after Convergence. And Harley Quinn delivers a pretty fun cliffhanger in advance of the break.

Out of all of them, I’m going to have to give Comic Book of the Week to Batman and Robin Annual #3. You’re going to have to read this one to believe it!

This is a thing that happens in the comic!

Over at Word of the Nerd this week, I reviewed the prologue issue for the new Uncanny Inhumans series. Black Bolt is the star of Uncanny Inhumans #0, and the issue shows why he could easily carry a comic book all on his own.

I am also super pleased to announce the launching of www.GamerGirlandVixen.com, a new site for my own self-published comic! We bought the domain name and are gearing up for our Kickstarter coming next month! Visit the site and follow along with the production!

Comic Reviews: Amazing Spider-Man #17, Batman Eternal #52, Batman and Robin Annual #3, Doctor Who: The 9th Doctor #1, and Harley Quinn #16.

I Have Discovered BigHead Parodies, and now My Weekend Will Never Be the Same

Random Internet surfing led me to BigHead movie parodies, by Lowcarbcomedy. They take classic movie scenes and superimpose large heads on top of the characters with new jokes and stuff. They’re pretty darn funny. Check out their new one from Jurassic Park!

It’s just weird and funny, and totally Internet. Good work, Lowcarbcomedy, you’ve won the Internet for today. They’ve got a couple more on their page. Now get back to work and make even more! And don’t get a big head about this praise.
