The Teen Titans have been here before…

Cartoon Network’s “Teen Titans Go!” goes meta, and pays homage to one of the best comics-based cartoons ever aired. These feels go beyond the fourth wall.

The 6 Best British Superheroes

By the time you’re reading this, I’ll be on my way to Jolly Old England enjoying my first-ever international vacation! My brother and I are doing to hit all the sights, try to avoid eating blood pudding, and mostly do our best not to act like ignorant Americans — no promises! So to celebrate my trip, this week’s List of Six is all about badass British superheroes!

The Ultimate British Superhero

Comic books are still largely an American game. But even in American-led comics, British characters pop up from time to time, usually in the best of ways. Sadly, this isn’t a comprehensive list, but I’m going to do my best to tell you about some of the coolest, bestest British comic book characters!

Join me after the jump to dive in!

Inside Out Comes Out on DVD Today!

Not sure why I made the headline about a DVD release…but just so you know, I’m already off on my way to a week-long vacation in England! It’s the first time I’ve ever been to Europe! Hopefully I’ll have a great time, and I managed to scrounge up some random Internet videos so that my blog isn’t completely dead while I’m gone (tune in for a regular List of Six tomorrow!).

But anyway, Inside Out! We all liked that one, didn’t we?

Pixar’s alright these days. Though I’m not really looking forward to that new dinosaur movie at all. It just…I dunno…But Inside Out was good. And Honest Trailers is always reliable.

The Orcs are Coming! (Update!)

Update: Check out this sweet new poster that was just released today! So good!

The first trailer for the Warcraft movie is right around the corner. It’s going to debut at Blizzcon this weekend, and hopefully it’ll arrive on the Internet soon after. Granted, I’ll be in London, so I might miss it! But Empire magazine was kind enough to tease some screenshots from the movie.

Behold, Durotan, father of Thrall and Warchief of the Frost Wolves Clan!

How do you pierce a tooth?

You can check out the article for yourself here.

Good times, that Durotan. Personally, I would have made the first movie about Thrall, but the filmmakers decided to go all the way back to the first Warcraft game and start the lore from the beginning. Mad respect for something like that. Let’s hope they can pull it off!

The Warcraft movie will be out next year. And be sure to watch the trailer as soon as you can!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/31/15

Happy Halloween! I hope all you ghosts, ghouls and superheroes have a lot of fun today! Halloween is my favorite holiday because of the insanely awesome pageantry involved. It’s just so much fun! Too bad we didn’t get any spooky comics this week…at least not in my regular pile. I should start reading Wytches maybe.

Word of note, before we begin: there won’t be any reviews next Saturday! Yours truly is going on vacation to London next week, and I won’t get any comics! I’ll still try to get some videos up, and a couple Lists of Six, but we’re skipping comic reviews next week. It’s for the best.

Fortunately, this week was pretty darn good. Batgirl #45 wins Comic Book of the Week for a lovely wedding issue.

Let’s make the magic happen!

Always good to see more diverse weddings and love stories in comics! We’ve come a long way since Northstar got married.

Comic Reviews: Angela: Queen of Hel #1, Batgirl #45, Batman and Robin Eternal #4, Chewbacca #2, Grayson #13, Sam Wilson: Captain America #2 and Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #1.
