My Mass Effect: Andromeda, In Case You’re Interested
I beat Mass Effect: Andromeda the other day and I felt like saying a few words. It’s an OK game, though I don’t think I’d recommend it to anyone who hasn’t played a Mass Effect game before. Not that you need to have played the original trilogy, but it helps if you’ve already got an interest in the series.

The game was exactly what I wanted when I bought it: a big, deep, enjoyable action RPG that I could spend time playing. Tons of side quests, lots of dialogue options, a pretty solid create-a-character and enough action to keep me mildly entertained. I got my money’s worth, and I’m looking forward to any upcoming DLCs or sequels, especially if they carry over my current main character and playthrough like they did with the previous trilogy.
But like I said, if you’re not already into the series, I can’t really recommend it. None of the quests or plots or characters or romances or weapons or villains or pretty much anything was all that exciting or memorable. I kind of just went through the motions on Mass Effect: Andromeda, which was enough for me.

Forgive the all-CAPS shouting in the headline, but what better way to describe this list of characters? This is a list of comic book villains who combine all the powers of a specific super team. I’m not just talking about power mimics or power thieves, either. I’m not talking about your Rogues or your Peter Petrellis or your Synchs or your Absorbency Lads.
These are characters who, for whatever reason, limit themselves to copying the super-powers of just one group.

Whatever the case may be, these guys have one specific power set in their battles against one specific super group. It’s kind of a pigeon-holed role, but everybody needs a gimmick.

Welp, Thor: Ragnarok Looks Amazing!
Surprise! The first teaser trailer for Thor 3: Ragnarok was released online today, and it’s utterly delightful!
Funny, charming, full of character and adventure; this movie looks phenomenal! Love Thor, love the Hulk, love the looks at Loki and Hela — though Jeff Goldblum looks ridiculous.
Also, at 1:05 in the trailer, I’m pretty sure that’s the Executioner with a pair of machine guns. And I’m pretty sure that means we’re getting Gjallerbru. So holy heck, you guys!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 4/8/17
I really need to start reading more DC Comics. This week is practically flooded with new issues of Marvel Comics, with only one showing from DC. Granted, I’ve always been more of a Marvel fan, but still! There should be a balance! I’m going to work on that.
But until then, we’ve got a wonderful pile of X-Men comics! All-New Wolverine and X-Men Gold kick off ResurrXion, for both good and ill. Iron Fist and Nova are pretty cool. And the new issue of Hawkeye wins Comic Book of the Week for a wonderful guest appearance by Jessica Jones!
Kate Bishop should show up on the Jessica Jones TV show!
Meanwhile, I’m not going to review the second issue of America, in case anyone was hoping. I really wanted to like and support this comic, but the second issue doubles down on everything I didn’t like about the first issue. It’s just too weird a comic, kind of like Shade The Changing Girl, which I also passed on reviewing. I am definitely not the intended audience, and I hope America finds the readers it’s looking for.
