Death Stranding Looks Weird as Heck; Avengers Looks Better

A couple new video game trailers came out yesterday for some very anticipated games.

First up is Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima’s new masterpiece that just looks weird as heck! I think you play a delivery man trying to remake America?

Honestly, I don’t want to look up any details about Death Stranding. This looks weird as heck and I don’t want to know anything about it before playing. Though I’ll probably wait and see what the reviews say, see if this is any good. I’m a big Metal Gear Solid fan, so I’m hopeful.

Meanwhile, the Avengers video game put out a new trailer that actually explains what this game is going to be. And it looks a little better than all of the fancy story trailers we’ve already seen.

I’m still not confident that this is going to be more than an on-rails punch’em up, but we’ll see. I’m definitely interested in a big, full scale Avengers game, especially playing as Kamala Khan.

So we’ll see what the future of video games hold!

The Top 6 Pumpkins in Comics

Happy Halloween, henchies! And welcome to another spooktacular List of Six! Who doesn’t love some good, holiday-themed internet nonsense? I know I do! I’ve made it a bit of a habit, and it’s not one I intend to break anytime soon! This year, we’re doing pumpkins!

Pumpkin List 01

These things!

And you’re going to have to cut me a little slack, because there just aren’t very many pumpkin characters in comics. I’ve wanted to do pumpkins for awhile, but it’s only with some suspension of disbelief that I’m going to pull this off. I’ve already done skeletons, witches, ghosts, classic movie monsters and Cerberus, the coolest of all mythical beasts. And then I went and wasted cats and bats on non-holiday lists. So we’re going to get a little choosy and go with pumpkins this year!

Join me after the jump for some really great jack o’lanterns!

The Mandalorian is Only Two Weeks Away!

The first episode, at least. The Mandalorian is a pretty exciting incentive to purchase the Disney+ streaming program. My family and I are going to get a subscription and have a whole host of shows and movies to watch!

And with the Marvel shows a year away, The Mandalorian is probably my most anticipated watch!

Looks cool! The main character seems badass, his team seems cool and Werner Herzog seems a good choice for moody narrator. And holy cow, those production qualities! Is all of that real? Finally, Disney is doing something really good with all of their money. You want to get people to sign onto your streaming service? Spend millions to make the most ambitious television show of all time!

The Mandalorian and Disney+ arrive on Nov. 12. Remind me to call my brother to get the log in details.

Dracula Meets Sherlock, Hopefully

There’s going to be a new Dracula TV show/mini-series on BBC, from the guys who made Sherlock. I very much enjoyed Sherlock, as well as Steven Moffat’s time at the helm on Doctor Who.

Looks sufficiently spooky and serious. I don’t know what to expect from this new Dracula, but hopefully something as fun and well-made as Sherlock.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/26/19

What a weekend to be alive! Not only do we have some good comics this week, but I also just picked up the The Outer Worlds video game. I’m having a ton of fun with it so far! Not only that, but we’ve also finally got new episodes of BoJack Horseman to watch! I’m over the moon this weekend!

Comic book wise, Dawn of X brings us the first issue of the Marauders, which is as fun as the rest of the relaunch has been. The Amazing Mary Jane has also arrived, and it’s fine. Comic Book of the Week goes to another stellar issue of Tony Stark – Iron Man, which might not make headlines but is still one of the best comics on the stands.

Tony Stark Robot 01

With dry, cool wit like that…

Meanwhile, Absolute Carnage continues to be a fun series. I read the latest issue last week, and it’s good, though I think it’s a little too limited in scope. It seems like a pretty self-contained story. The Scream tie-in mini also came to a pretty dull ending, but I’m going to remain generally hopeful for her upcoming ongoing series. Surely it exists for a reason, right?

Comic Reviews: Amazing Mary Jane #1, King Thor #2, Marauders #1, Tony Stark – Iron Man #17 and Valkyrie #4.
