6 TV Show Finales That I Love, That Everybody Else Hates

TV is a fickle beast. Sometimes shows just can’t maintain the greatness we come to expect. Sometimes really good shows change writers or showrunners and the end just peters out. Sometimes the ending is so bad the show is forever tainted in the eyes of the world.

And sometimes when that happens, I go against the grain and end up loving the finale that everybody else hates! It has happened so often that I found six entries!

Yes, I’m going there…

I like what I like, and sometimes I just don’t have a good explanation for why I like it. I am surprisingly easy to please in the middle of watching something. There are a lot of shows I hate, a lot of endings I loathe, but there have been a few times where I have either loved or have been perfectly happy with a show’s finale, only for the rest of the world and the internet to hate the ending with a fiery passion. I just don’t get it. And I doubt I can convince you to change your mind. It’s been years since watching some of these finales, and I honestly don’t remember as much as I would like. Don’t expect me to have big, amazing reasons for why I enjoyed all of the listed finales, I just liked them.

Join me after the jump to see just what kind of crap I actually enjoy. FULL SPOILERS for each of the shows mentioned.

The Mandalorian Season 2 is No Place for The Child

The Mandalorian TV show returns on Oct. 30! Mando and The Child are out in space, on a journey of discovery! There’s gonna be action! There’s gonna be shooting! There’s maybe gonna be a race of enemy sorcerers!

Looks great! It’s just a teaser trailer for now. No sign of Ahsoka Tano or Boba Fett, both of whom are rumored to appear. But I can be patient. I can wait a month and a half and enjoy the show like everybody else. In the meantime, I still need to build my Razor Crest LEGO set.

It’s good to be excited about Star Wars again.

Kang the Conqueror is Coming to…Ant-Man 3?!

Good news, everybody! The Marvel Cinematic Universe production machine is kicking back into some kind of gear! The TV shows have resumed filming, and work is apparently being done on Ant-Man 3 because Deadline has announced the casting of actor Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror!

One is good at fashion, one is not

Marvel hasn’t officially commented on the role, but Deadline isn’t about to report something like this without some confidence. So I would say this is pretty solid casting news.

And it’s cool news, too! Kang the Conqueror stands to be a great villain, and hopefully Majors isn’t just going to be part of Ant-Man 3. Why is he part of a considerably small movie, instead of Avengers 5? Because Ant-Man has led the charge into time travel in the MCU, and Kang is all about that stuff!

Plus, rumors are apparently also swirling that Ant-Man 3 will be a kick-off for the Young Avengers, what with the older Cassie Lang surely getting ready to suit up herself. And Kang was a big part of the Young Avengers.

So this is all exciting news! I haven’t seen Majors in anything yet, but he’s been getting a ton of roles recently. I’m due to start watching him in Lovecraft Country any day now, just gotta get around to starting.

Hooray for new MCU news!

What’s Laina Up To?

In my random internet watching this past weekend, I stumbled upon a new video series from Buzzfeed that catches up with meme stars to learn their story. And I watched a lovely interview with Laina, the Overly Attached Girlfriend.

She’s always seemed pretty cool! And her story is pretty neat! So I think that’s a fine way to start this week end spend a Monday.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 9/12/20

Another week of new comics, another week of new reviews! It’s good to have consistency. Another short week this time, with me only reading new issues of Marauders, X-Factor and The Green Lantern.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Marauders #12 for a big Kate Pryde moment. Also, I love how her hair is drawn.

Let it happen

Meanwhile, The Magnificent Ms. Marvel returned and I looked into it…but it’s a tie-in to the Outlawed storyline going on in Champions. I haven’t read it and didn’t plan on it, so I’m skipping the new Ms. Marvel issue. Man…I just can’t work up any interest in these comic company Big Events anymore. I must be getting old.

Comic Reviews: The Green Lantern: Season 2 #7, Marauders #12 and X-Factor #3.
