We Have a Kamala Khan!

At long last, it has been revealed that newcomer Iman Vellani has been cast as Kamala Khan for the Ms. Marvel TV show! She’s so new that this is her first acting role!

It’s finally happening!

According to Deadline, Vellani’s only real credit in the world is being on a diversity committee at the 2019 Toronto Film Festival…so that’s something! And it obviously means none of us are going to be familiar with her acting work. But if Marvel Studios is cool with their choice, I definitely support their decision. They are casting wizards!

Marvel Studios hasn’t said anything yet, but they never do. Good for Miss Vellani!

6 Surprise Siblings of Popular Characters

Siblings; can’t live with’em, can’t live without’em. Or something like that. I have two younger siblings, and they’re pretty cool. But this isn’t an article about them. You know who else has siblings? Pop culture characters! And you know what’s even more fun? When those siblings randomly show up out of the blue and are sometimes never heard from again!

Like Enola Holmes, the hit new Netflix movie about Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister.

It’s nice that Millie Bobbie Brown is getting work

I watched Enola Holmes this past weekend and rather enjoyed it. But did you know that she is not canon to the actual Sherlock Holmes stories? Enola Homes is a creation of American author Nancy Springer, who wrote a series of young adult novels about the character between 2006 and 2010. So, surprise! Sherlock Holmes has a younger sister! Kind of!

Turns out, this happens every once and a while in pop culture and I’ve tracked down a couple other random, surprise siblings! Join me after the jump and be in awe!

I Don’t Know the First Thing About Lupin III, But This Looks Fun

Anybody know anything about Lupin III? I don’t know if he’s French or Japanese or what, but he had a CGI movie in his home country…last year, I think? Suffice to say, I am doing absolutely no research whatsoever for this blog post. I’m just sharing the new English dub trailer!

Looks like he’s some kind of thief…and has wacky adventures? That seems about right. Lupin III: The First is coming to select theaters on Oct. 18, and then will be available digitally in December. Looks like I’m waiting until December.

Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts is Coming to An End!

The final season of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts is coming to Netflix in two weeks! This is a wonderful little show and I’m excited to get a fitting conclusion.

Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts is only three seasons long and it’s all wonderful. Highly recommended. It does go in some weird directions here and there, but it’s overall a really nice adventure.

Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts season 3 arrives on Oct. 12!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 9/26/20

This week was a stark reminder of how little comics I actually read. Nothing on my DC pull list came out this week…despite issues of the likes of Superman, Aquaman, Batgirl and many more. I either need to expand my reading list again or…I don’t know. I just need to read more comics!

Plenty of Marvel comics to enjoy this week, though. From the return of Doctor Doom and Spider-Man to the start of X of Swords! Comic Book of the Week goes to Juggernaut #1 because I liked that one the best!

I do like the new design

Meanwhile, I’ve started watching the show Letterkenny on Hulu. It’s pretty fun. Pretty recommended. And Enola Holmes on Netflix was also good. So I’m in a good place when it comes to watchables right now.

Comic Reviews: Doctor Doom #7, Drakon: New Dawn #2, Juggernaut #1, Spider-Man #4, Spider-Woman #4 and X of Swords: Creation #1.
