6 USA-Themed Superheroes (Other Than Captain America)

Hooray America! At long last, the people of the United States of America came together to oust Donald J. Trump from the White House! Granted, it was a tight race and a good 70 million+ Americans still voted for that national embarrassment to remain in power, but the only thing that matters in the end is the win for Joe Biden.

So let’s celebrate by recognizing a bunch of fun USA-themed comic book characters!

Let freedom ring

Obviously Captain America is the #1 choice for such a list, but everybody already knows about him. Let’s dig deeper and find some of the more obscure and yet still 100% real America-themed comic book characters! There are a lot more than you’d think. And I’m not just talking about U.S.Agent or Iron Patriot either. Oh no, we’re digging deep for this list and it’s going to be a raucous good time!

Join me after the jump for six United States of America-themed superheroes as we celebrate a Trump-less country.

A Bunch of Draculas, Animated

There are a bajillion draculas out there in the world. Thankfully, they’re all in movies, so the threat isn’t real. But there’s enough to kick off a fun Tell It Animated adventure!

I think it’d be fun for the Tell It Animated guy to do a whole series on movie Draculas. And then movie Frankensteins. Movie mummies, maybe? There are plenty of characters. He’s not going to run out anytime soon.

My recommendation? Minor Avengers. The Black Widow movie is coming out soon enough, so do an episode about her and throw in the likes of Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, War Machine and others that probably couldn’t fill a whole episode themselves!

New Spider-Man Game Arrives This Week

Considering everything else going on in the world these days, it seems a little underplayed that there’s a brand new Spider-Man video game coming out this week. Spider-Man: Miles Morales arrives on Playstation 4 on Thursday. I already have the day off from work.

I am excited about this game…and yet…not? And I’m not entirely sure why not. Based on the reviews I’ve seen, the PS4 version is going to still be good, even though the game is optimized for the PS5 — which also comes out this week, but I’m not about to buy. And the reviews also paint Miles Morales as an extension of the Spider-Man game from last year, which was a masterpiece in Spidey gaming.

I think it might just be the size of Miles Morales, the scope of it. From what I’ve read, it seems to be just a beefier DLC. It’s the same map and gameplay, albeit with some snow on the ground because it’s set in the winter. It’s the same game world, essentially, there’s just a new Spider-Man to control. And the new story is obviously shaped around Miles. And I like Miles! And I’m sure I’ll like this story.

I guess I’ve just got it in my head that this is more Spider-Man 1.5 than its own standalone awesomeness. But I’m still going to buy it ASAP and play the heck out of it!

While I continue to wait for Cyberpunk 2077…

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 11/7/20

Welcome to a brave new world! Or at least that’s what I would be saying if this stupid presidential election would just end already! We know who’s gonna win! And I don’t want to have to keep knocking on wood every time I talk about it! Sheesh!

Comic Book of the Week goes to Mighty Morphin #1, the kick off of the next stage of Power Rangers comics. That new Green Ranger looks damn cool!

As does Pandamonium, I must say

Meanwhile, I’m working my way through the last few seasons of Archer. They’re fine, but the show isn’t as good as the original seasons. And I’m finally going to get to see Tenet! It’s playing in one of the few movie theaters that’s open in my area this afternoon. I already bought my ticket. Here’s hoping I don’t die!

Comic Reviews: Batman #102, Mighty Morphin #1, Thor #9, U.S.Agent #1, X-Men #14 and Marauders #14.

That Sweet Mandalorian Content You Love!

The Mandalorian is back and the first episode was great! The second episode is out today, and I’ll watch it later tonight. Can’t wait! Until then, here are a couple of cool Mandalorian things I’ve seen on the internet in the past week.

First up is this cool anime-style Mandalorian opening sequence by Malec. This thing is sweet as hell!

Heck yeah! That’s what the internet was made for: showing off the creative abilities of all us wonderful people in the world!

Next up is a cutesy Christmas short from Star Wars Kids, so it’s an official Star Wars production. It’s also in LEGO.

There’s a new LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special coming out later this month. You can check out the trailer here. It looks OK. I don’t watch the Star Wars LEGO movies and whatnot, so I don’t know if I’ll view this one.

But all of this reminds me that I still need to build that LEGO Razor Crest I bought…
