6 Random Star Wars Characters I Want the Mandalorian to Meet

The Mandalorian TV show finally featured Ahsoka Tano in her highly anticipated cameo appearance. It was great and I loved it! This season also saw appearances from Cobb Vanth and Bo-Katan, two other Expanded Universe characters brought in from other media. As a long time Star Wars fan, I think this is a great use of the EU!

She senses much fear in you

The Mandalorian is a show where our hero, Din Djarin, and his kid sidekick, Baby Yoda, travel to different planets and help out random characters that they meet. Mostly this involved brand new original characters — which is perfectly fine — but this season has featured plenty of pre-existing Star Wars characters. I would love for that to continue and have plenty of ideas of my own for cameos!

Join me after the jump for six pre-existing Star Wars characters that I would love to see show up on The Mandalorian! Expect some SPOILERS for recent episodes. And feel free to share your own character ideas in the comments!

Some Maniac Has Decided to Bring Back the Original Robin Costume

A crime has been committed against fashion! Through a flashback in Batman #104, released today, we can clearly see that Dick Grayson’s original Robin costume has been added back to continuity. Short shorts, bare legs and pixie boots included!

Oh those accursed skinny chicken legs!

Oh what a horror! What a shame! Why must we suffer like this? The New 52 brought on a much cooler, more modern take on Robin’s original costume. It’s a little busy, but it works! And surely it’s better than Robin ever wearing that original 1940s get-up, right?

I get that nostalgia is strong in comic fandom, but come on! Can’t we all agree that the original Robin costume went a long way towards turning the character into the laughing stock he is with the mainstream public? Can’t we all recognize that that costume belongs in the past where it was created?

Robin deserves better than to be reminded of the worst fashion choice in the history of comics, no matter how classic it might be.

Hilda is Coming Back for a Second Season!

Honestly, I’m a little shocked to learn that the adorable animated show Hilda has only had one season so far. I watched it and I enjoyed it…but apparently, in my memory, I thought it was much more than just 13 episodes. Turns out I’m wrong! And they came out all the way back in 2018!

Well good news, Hilda fans! Season 2 starts in two weeks!

Hilda is an adventurous little girl who lives in a world of urban fantasy. She lives in a nice little town, and then there’s monsters and elves and magic and all sorts of stuff. It’s a quaint little cartoon and definitely worth a watch!

Hilda season 2 comes to Netflix on Dec. 14.

A New Doctor Who Special is Coming!

As is tradition, there’s going to be a Doctor Who TV special for New Year’s Day. Revolution of the Daleks is going to mostly star the companions as they take on the Daleks without the Doctor…but with a special guest!

Honestly, this finally better be where the Doctor is reunited with Jack Harkness. You can’t keep teasing that! Let it happen!

I’m several episodes behind on the latest season. I used to be a big Doctor Who fan, but I guess I just got bored with the latest season. And I had the big season ending revelation spoiled for me, and I’m largely fine with it. Guess I should settle in and watch before New Year’s.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 11/28/20

Man, oh man! What an awesome episode of The Mandalorian that was! Don’t worry, you’ll find no spoilers here! That was just an exciting episode…far more exciting than this weeks comics, which include new Doctor Doom and a relaunched Power Pack!

Comic Book of the Week goes to the finale to X of Swords. Not because its the best comic of the week, but because it is the most momentous. I’ll give it that.

At least Apocalypse has had something new to do

Meanwhile, I’ve been watching the new Animaniacs revival and it’s fine. I’ve laughed a few times, and am generally enjoying the show. But I don’t think it’s…evolved as it should have. The show doesn’t justify its revival after more than 20 years. And maybe that’s too high a standard to hold the Animaniacs to, but maybe I just feel like being contrarian.

Comic Reviews: Doctor Doom #9, Power Pack #1, X-Men #15, Excalibur #15 and X of Swords: Destruction #1.
