6 Marvel Legends Action Figures I’m Still Waiting For

Marvel Legends are the be-all, end-all of superhero action figures. I wish I had figures this awesome when I was a kid — though, to be fair, I’m making fine use of them as an adult. There have been more than 1,000 Marvel Legends figures over the past few decades, highlighting some of Marvel’s greatest characters and a lot of their very obscure characters.

So why haven’t there been any Marvel Legends figures of my personal favorite obscure characters?!

What If…? is getting its own line!

I’ve been a comic book fan for my entire life, and while I like Spider-Man and the X-Men as much as the next person, most of my favorite characters are B, C and D-list guys and gals who don’t get the respect they deserve. Heck, Marvel Legends only got around to a Multiple Man figure a couple of years ago. They’ve made guys like Skullbuster, Living Laser, Darkhawk, the female Beetle and a bunch of members of the Serpent Society. These are some deep cuts…and yet a ton of my favorite Marvel characters have yet to receive a Marvel Legends figure!

Join me after the jump for six(ish) characters I hope to see as Marvel Legends some day. And feel free to share your own character hopes and drams in the comments!

My Ranking of the Star Wars: Visions Episodes

Star Wars: Visions debuted to the world this past weekend and it was as amazing as we all hoped it would be. Basically, Star Wars gathered up a bunch of different anime studios and invited them to make their own little Star Wars stories. They didn’t have to involve the Skywalkers or necessarily fit with established continuity. Just take the bells and whistles of Star Wars — lightsabers, the Force, the Dark Side, spaceships — and put them to good use.

Seeing as how there were only nine episodes of this (hopefully) first season, I figured it wouldn’t be too hard to rank them from least to most favorite. Keep in mind, I am a dummy. I don’t know the first thing about the history or anime or its influences or anything like that. I’m just a dude who likes Star Wars and really enjoyed this show. And this is my ranking.

Join me after the jump for my least to most favorite. Expect FULL SPOILERS for all of Star Wars: Visions. And feel free to share your own rankings in the comments!

Sandman and The Witcher Get New Trailers

Netflix held some kind of event on Saturday where they showed off a bunch of new trailers for their upcoming and returning shows. Sounds neat! I’m as much a fan of Netflix shows as the next person. And I wanted to share the best two, in my opinion. Or the most exciting two.

First up is the first look at the Sandman adaptation. Neil Gaiman’s magnum opus has never before been adapted. And it looks pretty cool so far.

Next up is the second season of The Witcher.

I’m a huge fan of the Witcher games and never read the books, so the show is a bit early in Geralt’s timeline for me. But the first season was fun and everybody seemed to like it, so this second season appears to have a better budget maybe? Here’s hoping this Witcher show takes off and we get a whole series worth of content!

Sandman is coming sometime next year, and The Witcher returns on Dec. 17.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 9/25/21

Happy vacation, everybody! Vacation for me, that is. I’m finally taking a week off from work for the first time this year, and oh man, I needed it. I need a week to just relax and do not much of anything. Thankfully, I’ve got the likes of Batman, X-Men and X-Corp to kick it off.

Comic Book of the Week goes to X-Men: Onslaught Revelation for a truly excellent and exciting end to this chapter of the story. I have loved Way of X, more so than I thought I would, and the first part of Sy Spurrier’s X-Men epic has come to an exciting end!

Behold his power and weep

Meanwhile, I don’t have much planned for my vacation. Can’t exactly travel anywhere. I’ll go visit my parents, I’ve got a dentist’s appointment, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage will come out at the end of the week. That should be fun. Mostly I’ll just relax and spend some more time playing No Man’s Sky. It’s also pretty fun!

Comic Reviews: Batman #113, Nightwing #84, X-Corp #5, X-Men #3 and X-Men: Onslaught Revelation #1.

Tom Hanks, a Robot and a Dog

September has been pretty barren when it comes to new movies. But this random Tom Hanks trailer arrived a couple days ago and it could be pretty fun. The movie is called Finch.

It looks fine. Tom Hanks is always a treat, and now he’s got an adorable dog and an adorable robot. Why does he build the robot again? Just as a hobby at the end of the world? I suppose we’ll have to watch the movie to find out.

Finch comes to AppleTV+ on Nov. 5.
