Disney to Try to Make Haunted Mansion Happen Again
You know, I don’t think I ever saw the first Haunted Mansion movie, with Eddie Murphy. I must have. Did it play on ABC some night while I was still living with my parents before college? Surely I saw it then. Anyway, time heals all wounds and reboots all movies, so let’s try it again!
Looks fine. Some OK gags. Some OK special effects. Great cast. Danny DeVito and LaKeith Stanfield? That sounds like a dream team. But hey, it’s a Friday, I have the day off work and I plan to bury myself in video games and junk food. So enjoy a movie trailer and hope for the best!
Haunted Mansion is actually coming to theaters and not going straight to Disney+ on July 28!

6 Things I Want to See in Ant-Man 4
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is taking a big hit at the box office and in the fandom. Despite it being a very entertaining movie that many people enjoyed — myself included — it’s got one of the lowest Rotten Tomatoes scores of an MCU film, and it’s box office take isn’t going to reach Giant Man heights anytime soon. That’s a real shame. Does this mean we’ll never get an Ant-Man 4? Is this the end of Scott Lang’s adventures in the MCU? I sure hope not!
As great superhero movies have said, you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain. Had the MCU ended at Avengers: Endgame, it would be hailed as a masterpiece for all time. But movies are a business, and why quit when you’re ahead? I fully applaud Disney and Marvel was trying out new projects, new characters, new creators and the like. I’ve enjoyed Phase 4, including all the TV shows. Another great superhero movie also said, “They found you amusing for a while, the people of this city. But the one thing they love more than a hero is to see a hero fail, fall, die trying.” There are plenty of people ready to celebrate a failure in the MCU, and I’m not one of them. I look forward to future Ant-Man films, as long as Marvel and the actors are game.
Join me after the jump for six things I’d like to see in a future Ant-Man sequel.

Like everybody else in the world, I very much enjoy the Ted Lasso TV show. It’s heartwarming, awesome, well-crafted and stars a whole bunch of delightful characters. So I’m very excited for season 3, and even more excited that it’s only a couple of weeks away!
I betcha we’re gonna have a season where Ted and his team go up against Evil Nate and his team. And they all play soccer! And hopefully it’s all so much deeper than that. That’s what we’ve come to expect and love about Ted Lasso.
Supposedly, the creators only planned for three seasons, so this should hopefully be a great finale!
Ted Lasso returns to AppleTV+ on March 15.

Ant-Man Isn’t Doing Well at the Box Office, But He Still Looks Cool Animated
I enjoyed Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but it’s getting picked apart at the box office and in critical reviews. Alas. I’m a huge Marvel fanboy, but I can definitely see the cracks in the film, though I still insist it’s an enjoyable and entertaining watch. People are just eager for Marvel Studios to fail. Live long enough to see yourself become the villain, eh?
Anyway, Ant-Man is the latest subject of Tell It Animated, and this video is another banger!
I love this dude’s videos! I hope he’s been very successful. Ant-Man is my favorite Avenger largely because of the cool look of his modern costumes. And Ant-Man’s costumes are some of my favorite in the MCU. So this was a super fun video!
And, as always, the next video he should make is Robin!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 2/25/23
It’s another week of jam-packed comic books! A lot of good ones! A lot of new announcements! It’s always fun having something to read. I need to get back into reading my big stack of tpbs. Sometimes I think I just like buying shiny things on Amazon. Anyway, this week features such fun comics as Amazing Spider-Man, Nightwing and Saga!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Superman #1 for a perfect relaunch first issue. This is one god damned gorgeous comic book, people.
Meanwhile, I enjoyed Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, though I can see why critics didn’t enjoy it. Hopefully it doesn’t go down as Marvel’s first flop. All that really matters is that I had fun. And I hope to have fun at Cocaine Bear this weekend. Should be a blast!
Comic Reviews: Amazing Spider-Man #20, Nightwing #101, Saga #62, Strange Academy: Finals #4, and Superman #1.
