Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 7/24/21

We’re in that weird down period again where there are no Marvel projects coming out. We’ve got a week or so still until What If…and that Loki behind-the-scenes episode was good, but it won’t sustain us. What will we do? Read comics, of course! Like Marauders and Nightwing and Power Rangers! This is actually a very DC heavy week!

Comic Book of the Week goes to Superman and The Authority #1 for a very well-polished launch to what will hopefully be a fun little mini-series.

A shiny Fortress of Solitude on a hill

Meanwhile, I’m about finished with Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I’ve very much enjoyed the game, and I’m tracking down every last shrine, but I have nothing else after it’s gone. Any good games coming out soon? Other than that, I’ve been watching and enjoying Wellington Paranormal, not caring for Tigtone and I binged and enjoyed the new Masters of the Universe: Revelation last night.

Comic Reviews: Marauders #22, Nightwing #82, Power Rangers #9, Superman and The Authority #1 and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow #2.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 7/17/21

What a time to be a comic book fan! Black Widow came out a week ago! Loki just ended a wonderful season, with a promise of more. And we’ve got Multiple Man making awesome multiple moves in a regular comic again! Life is good.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Mighty Morphin #9 for just another consistently wonderful comic book about the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Indeed

Meanwhile, things are going to be a little different around here…sort of. I’ve decided that I give too many details away in my synopsis. So I’m gonna try to dial that back. I still want to be a review place where I can talk about spoilers and stuff…but I also want you readers to buy the comics and enjoy them yourselves. Don’t read me just to avoid buying comics! I love buying and reading comics!

Comic Reviews: Champions #8, Iron Man #10, Mighty Morphin #9, Thor #15, Way of X #4 and X-Corp #3.

Some Fan-Driven Multiple Man Greatness

This is a really fun story about a really big Multiple Man fan: artist Jason Loo. Once upon a time, way back in November 2017, Loo posted on Twitter a really fun bit of Multiple Man fan art. It’s this great little piece that really leans into the awesomeness and uniqueness that is Jamie Madrox the Multiple Man.

Life being awesome, that picture was finally noticed this past April by Marvel head honcho Tom Brevoort. You can see Brevoort’s reply on the link to Twitter. How exciting, right? Brevoort is instantly floored with the creativity of the artwork and wants to put Loo to work.

And as of X-Corp #3 this week, it seems they really did! This new double-page spread appeared at the end of the new issue. It’s a beautiful piece!

Congrats to Jason Loo for putting his creativity out there and getting to make some real Multiple Man content!

The world is indeed a better place because of Jason Loo!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 7/10/21

Does it feel good to have Marvel movies back in the theater! Went and saw Black Widow and I loved it! I’ll have my review/thoughts up on Wednesday. Until then, I also had some great comics this week, like Batman, Runaways and Wonder Girl.

Comic Book of the Week goes to X-Men #1 for a fantastic launch of the new series. Very excited about this one.

They’ve mastered cool team poses so far

Meanwhile, I’ve got my 20th high school reunion on Friday. It will be exciting to let everybody know I’m still fat. But seriously though, should be a fun lark. I’ll tell everybody to come read my comic book reviews more often.

Comic Reviews: Batman #110, Children of the Atom #5, Runaways #37, Wonder Girl #2 and X-Men #1.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 7/3/21

Welcome to the fifth week of June in terms of comic book releases! That means very little was released this week, and I read very little of that. So really, we’re got a pretty news-worthy issue of X-Factor to wrap up the Hellfire Gala and then another brilliant issue of Beta Ray Bill.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Beta Ray Bill #4, carrying this series through as a Comic Book of the Year contender. With artwork this gorgeous, why to the rest of us even exist?

The horror is coming from inside the horse!

Meanwhile, life continues as expected. The Loki show is still great. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still great. And by this time next week, I’ll have seen Black Widow! So huzzah!

Comic Reviews: Beta Ray Bill #4 and X-Factor #10.
