A New Look at that Avengers Video Game
In theory, new video games are still going to come out this year. One can only hope. As far as we all know, that big, fancy Avengers video game is still coming out, and a new trailer was released the other day with a bit of new detail about actual gameplay.
Sounds helpful! Considering the year we’re dealing with, I think my hesitancy towards this game is evaporating. We could all use a big, fun, multi-player Avengers game by the time this year is out.
In theory, the game is set for Sept. 4 — the week of my birthday!

6 Reasons Why I Should Buy a Nintendo Switch During Quarantine
These are troubling times. We are, all of us, living in interesting times as a deadly virus sweeps across the globe. I’ve been working from home for 2 1/2 weeks now with no sign of life going back to normal. I might not even have my job at the end of this — if there is an end of this. The world may never be the same ever again due to the coronavirus.
So I’m here to explain to you all why I should go out and buy a Nintendo Switch.

Look, I know what you’re going to say. But I’ve given this a lot of thought and I have, like, six really good reasons why I should load up BestBuy.com and order a brand, spanking new Nintendo Switch video game console. And a couple games. Granted, as I’m writing this, it’s currently sold out, but it wasn’t sold out a couple days ago, which means it’ll be in stock again someday. And I should buy one. Yep. For the full $300, plus a couple games. Trust me on this.
In fact, join me after the jump for all the very good, well-thought-out reasons why I should buy a Nintendo Switch while self-isolating at home.
Or How About a Couple of Fun Video Game Trailers?
There’s just not much else going on for entertainment these days. No more movies. No more comics. A lot of video games are getting delayed, along with some TV shows. How about some trailers for a couple of video games that just released.
First up is the latest trailer for the Final Fantasy 7 remake! I’ve read online that this trailer is full of SPOILERS, so watch at your own risk.
I’ve decided to hold off on getting this remake. The reviews are positive, and I am looking forward to the game, but I don’t know if I want to pay the full $60 for just the opening chapter when there is no promise of any future chapters. We’ll see how desperate I get for new video games…
Then we’ve got the Resident Evil 3 remake, because the only thing coming out these days is remakes of classic games, I guess…
This also looks pretty good. I was a big, big Resident Evil fan back when I had the original Playstation. It was one of my major franchises. But for some reason, I have held off on getting these remakes. I’m not sure why. They’re supposed to be really good. And perhaps I’ll, again, get desperate enough for new games to try them out. Maybe I’ll wait for Resident Evil 3 to also go on sale and then play them both back-to-back? Could be fun!

6 Classic Video Games That Need Modern, R-Rated Cartoons
In these virus-ridden times, the only thing we all have to look forward to is crashing on our various couches and binging Netflix. I recently finished the latest season of the Castlevania cartoon, and it was awesome! Great character work, fun and clever writing, glorious animation and an eye-popping amount of Hard-R-Rated gore and more. They went all out with this cartoon.
So let’s kill some time in our new virus reality by daydreaming about other modern, Hard-R-Rated versions of classic video games. Why not? What do we have to lose? Sure, some of these could be turned into goofy, kid-friendly cartoons. But I want more total badasses kicking butt and being hardcore! That’s the sort of world we deserve. That’s the kind of world we should live in!
Join me after the jump for six classic video games that I think should get the modern Castlevania cartoon treatment! Life will just be more fun that way.
How About a Blood-Soaked Mortal Kombat Cartoon?
Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge comes out next month and they’ve decided to entice us with a blood-soaked new trailer! Let the cartoon blood flow!
This movie looks interesting…to an extent. It’s weird how the first half of the trailer is all about a cool Scorpion origin story…and then the second half switches over to Liu Kang and company. It’s like the movie wants us to think it’s all Scorpion all the time…but it’s probably just another retelling of the same old Liu Kang story again.
Which is doubly weird, because aren’t we supposed to get a new live action Mortal Kombat movie soon? And won’t that movie probably also focus on Liu Kang’s story in the first tournament? Why do MK producers keep going back to that story? Surely we’re all bored of it by now?
If you had to choose between Scorpion and Liu Kang, I think 99% of us would choose Scorpion.
Or better yet, Sub-Zero! Like this write-up I did last year on my idea for a Mortal Kombat movie! It’s time we leave Liu Kang, Sonya Blade and that third guy in the dust! Focus on the actually interesting characters! You’re already most of the way there with Scorpion’s Revenge!
