Epic Doctor Strange Trailer Leads a Bunch From the Super Bowl!
The Super Bowl came and went last night and my hopes and dreams were crushed once again. I am a lifelong Cincinnati Bengals fan, and they have never won a Super Bowl. They came within one minute of winning last night, and it was dashed. Such is life. Thankfully, I don’t care about football, and only really care about new movie and TV show trailers!
First up is a brand new, totally bonkers trailer for Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness! Holy cow, this trailer is beyond crazy.
I don’t even want to begin to speculate what we’re going to see. There’s a ton of spoilers and leaks out there on the web, and I’m trying my best to avoid them. But just from that trailer around, this movie looks hella bonkers and I am 100% here for it! Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness comes to theaters on May 6.
Next up is a new, short spot for the Moon Knight TV show.
This still looks good. I’ve never been a big Moon Knight fan, so I’m not as hyped or pumped as other viewers. But I’m definitely going to watch to see what’s in store. The Moon Knight costume is slowly winning me over, step by step. Moon Knight arrives on TV on March 30.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is coming and I am hesitantly excited about this one.
I didn’t care for the first movie. It was more just generic live action cartoon cliche than it was a Sonic movie. But the sequel features both Tails and Knuckles. I have been a fan of Knuckles since I was a wee boy, and he appears to be incredibly awesome in this film. Like, it’s blowing my mind that this badass Knuckles the Echidna is showing up in a movie and everybody is excited. So we’ll see! Sonic the Hedgehog 2 arrives in theaters on April 8.
Then we’ve got Nope, the new horror film by Jordan Peele.
Looks freaky and scary, so it should be a good time. I guess it’s about an alien invasion? Nope stands for “Not of Planet Earth” maybe? Either way, should be a good time at the movies! Nope arrives on July 22.

6 Things I Actually Want From an Open World Pokemon Game
So I bit the bullet this past weekend and splurged on Pokemon Legends: Arceus for my Nintendo Switch. I have been playing Pokemon games consistently since Blue. Heck, I even still play Pokemon Go on a daily basis. So it would make sense that I would want to try out the first truly open open world Pokemon game. I love sandbox games; they’re probably my favorite type of video game. So a Pokemon sandbox? I’m in!
I don’t know if I’ll get around to doing a proper review of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. I think my pros and cons are exactly the same as everybody else on the internet. I’m enjoying the catching and general gameplay mechanic, but this game is a far far cry from the types of games/open worlds that we know and love. Both Mario Odyssey and Zelda: Breath of the Wild came out on the Switch at launch. And this is the best Pokemon can offer in response? For shame. So I figured I would spend some time laying out exactly what I would actulaly want to see in a proper Pokemon open world game. Clearly such a thing is possible. Make it happen.
Join me after the jump for six things I want to see in a real, well-made, open world Pokemon game.
Read the rest of this entryA Live Action Halo TV Show is Actually Happening
Halo is one of those products that has been in some sort of live action development for a million years. But we eventually got that Warcraft movie…and that Y: The Last Man TV show…and both of them bombed. But let us get our hopes up for Halo! On Paramount+!
I think it looks great! I’m not a particular Halo fan. I’ve played a couple of the games, back when I owned an X-Box. But it was never my go-to console, and Halo is not my go-to game. But I am always looking for fun new TV shows to watch. And I think this show looks awesome. The CGI looks good, Master Chief looks good, I’m always eager for more Bokeem Woodbine. Bring on Halo TV!
Halo debuts on Paramount+ on March 24.

Cuphead is Getting a Cartoon!
I’ve never played the Cuphead video game. It had its day a while back, but I’m not into playing punishing video games. Just not my cup of tea. But the look the game has inspired Netflix to order up a whole season of cartoon shenanigans!
I’m always looking for new things to watch, so I’ll probably give this a shot. A crazy parody of classic, early 1900s animation? I am totally down for that madness.
The Cuphead Show comes to Netflix on Feb. 18.

LEGO Star Wars is Doing a Whole Video Game Thing
I played the heck out of the original LEGO Star Wars video game back in the day. That was good stuff. And now the whole thing has come full circle, bigger and better than ever, with LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. All nine movies. Over 300 playable characters. Just about everything one could want.
I don’t know if I will play this game. I loved the original, and I love the idea of these games, but I find that I rarely actually get attached to playing a LEGO game. I’ve tried a couple in the recent past, but I kept losing interest. I don’t know why. So I do not know if I’ll be playing The Skywalker Saga when it comes out. We’ll see what else I’ve got going on on April 5.
