Check Out These Awesome Bat-Family Costumes!
We live in a golden age of live action superhero costumes! Gone are the days of moody black leather. Now superheroes on both the big and small screens get to dress in comics-accurate attire! And it looks great!
Yesterday saw the first official images of the new Batwoman and Red Hood costumes from the second season of the Batwoman TV show and the third season of the Titans TV show respectively.
Here is Javicia Leslie in costume as Ryan Wilder, the new Batwoman.
The Ryan Wilder character recently made her first appearance in the comics. Maybe she’ll become the new Batwoman in comics as well? Time will tell! I think she looks great!
Next up is actor Curran Walters as the Red Hood!
Walters played Jason Todd as Robin in the first two seasons of Titans. I haven’t seen the second season yet, so I don’t know what happened to him. But apparently it was enough for him to go full Red Hood for season 3! I need to start watching that show again. And I never did watch Batwoman to begin with.
To think I live in a day and age where there are so many superhero TV shows that I actively don’t watch some of them! I should be so lucky!

The New Darkwing Duck is Free on YouTube!
I’ve really enjoyed the new DuckTales reboot. It’s still humming along nicely after the past few years, and they’ve included more and more cameos from other Disney afternoon cartoons from my childhood.
Well they just did a double-sized special episode about their version of Darkwing Duck! And you can watch the whole thing on YouTube! So why not?
I’m still a little disappointed in how they arrived at their version of Darkwing Duck, but I can live with what’s happened. Especially since they have such fun with it. It’s a quality episode and I look forward to the rest of season 3.

I’m Lukewarm About the Animaniacs Coming Back
So the Animaniacs cartoon was a staple of my childhood, like so many other people. It was a great show. Very funny. And it’s coming back for a revival at Hulu. But…I dunno. I’m not very confident.
This first proper trailer looks fine, at least.
I just don’t know if Animaniacs is the right show to reboot. I think it might have been too much a product of its specific ’90s time. Animation has evolved so much since then. Comedy has evolved so much since then. Will Animaniacs be able to grab on to the modern zeitgeist?
We shall see on Hulu on Nov. 20!

6 Thoughts on Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 1 (Review)
I am not a classic Trekkie. I can count the number of pre-Discovery Star Trek episodes I’ve seen on one hand. It simply wasn’t my thing when I was growing up — though I’ve come to believe I probably would have loved the shows. I can’t rewrite the past and I don’t really have an interest in watching the classic shows in this day and age…so instead, I watched and loved Star Trek: Lower Decks!
TV Show Rating: 10/10 – Fantastic!
I’ve seen both seasons of Star Trek: Discovery and have enjoyed that show well enough. I watched Picard and don’t think very much of it. I enjoyed all the J.J. Abrams movies. But man, Lower Decks is the bee’s knees. Lower Decks is my Star Trek now. It’s smartly written, it’s legitimately funny and it’s clearly made by Star Trek fans for Star Trek fans. And that’s pretty neat! So join me after the jump for my review of the first season of Star Trek: Lower Decks!
Expect FULL SPOILERS for the first season of Lower Decks.
Also, happy 4,000th post for Henchman-4-Hire!

The comic book Invincible is getting a cartoon next year on Amazon Prime. And it looks pretty good!
I only recently just started reading Invincible the comic. I bought all three giant compendiums and have completed the first one. It’s a fun comic. So far, it’s not groundbreaking or truly amazing. It’s just a solid, enjoyable, well-crafted superhero adventure. Should make for a great cartoon!
