What Happened in Halo Season 1?

I know I watched the first season of the Halo TV show, and I know I liked it. I’m no game purist, so the show was fine. But I can’t really remember too much. I have vague memories of Master Chief’s storyline…and there was a big battle against the aliens in the final episode. But did the first season how the Fall of Reach? I don’t remember that…

Anyway, the new trailer for season 2 sure does seem to think we’ve already seen the Fall of Reach.

So for those who don’t know, Reach is a human planet and the evil aliens destroy it…I think. There’s at least one video game about it specifically, which I’m pretty sure I played a million years ago. Maybe the Fall of Reach happens at the start of this new season? I dunno. The trailer looks pretty good to me. Looks like more of the same. Wait, did Kwan Ha appear in that trailer at all? I don’t remember seeing any young Asian women…is that original character from season 1 coming back?!

Jeez, my memory is terrible these days. Though I do remember that the trailer said Halo season 2 will arrive on Paramount+ on Feb. 8.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith Looks Great!

It’s a new year, so we’ve got new television to watch! And the new Mr. & Mrs. Smith show on Amazon Prime is starting to look really great. It’s not going to be a remake of that Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie movie, it has it’s own plot. And that works for me.

As anyone could have predicted, Donald Glover and Maya Erskine look like they’re going to be amazing together! My interest in this show exists purely on the strength of their awesomeness, and this trailer shows that off perfectly. I’m totally on board and can’t wait to watch!

Mr. & Mrs. Smith comes to Amazon Prime starting on Feb. 2.

Anybody Still Watching Walking Dead Stuff?

Like everybody else, I was a big fan of the Walking Dead TV show. I’ve read most of the comic book series and enjoyed that as well, but the show was really cool…until it wasn’t. I dropped off before the last two seasons, haven’t watched most of any of the spin-offs, but it’s still a quiet January and this new trailer is at least a little interesting.

It’s the first trailer for The Ones Who Live spin-off, featuring Rick Grimes and Michonne.

I’m probably not going to watch this show. But I’m still a little interested to see what becomes of Rick and Michonne. They kept him alive for some reason, and here’s that reason. This show. It was supposed to be a movie or two, but now it’s…wait…is it a show or is it a movie? I didn’t even look into it all that deeply. But it’s still coming out, and this story will still be told…but will it really matter unless we get a full Walking Dead reunion when all is said and done?

Our First Look at the Second Season of Arcane!

Arcane: League of Legends came out of nowhere a few years ago and was an awesome-as-hell show! And thankfully, the wait for a second season is almost over because, I believe, it might be coming out later this year! Woohoo! And to herald that second season, here is a short teaser of a clip.

Who is that giant monster? It’s probably Vander, the father figure character from the first batch of episodes. There were apparently hints that he might still be alive in that mad scientist’s lab, and he’d make a fearsome foe in season two. Personally, I’m not a fan of bringing him back. Let the past stay in the past and let our main characters move forward on their own. But I trust the creators to make an awesome season 2.

And like that video says, it comes out in November!

Echo is Looking Pretty Fierce

Everybody thought Echo wasn’t going to be much of anything. Marvel is dropping all 5 episodes at the same time next Tuesday, and many took that as a sign that Marvel wanted to get rid of this show as soon as possible. But honestly, they’ve been doing a great job with promoting how badass Echo might be.

Check out this new trailer, which obviously focuses on Kingpin, but it’s still good.

And then we’ve got a behind-the-scenes featurette on how they incorporated Echo’s Native American heritage, which is cool.

I’m a fan of almost everything the MCU puts out, so I’m very much looking forward to binging Echo next week. Hopefully it lives up to the awesomeness of these promotional trailers. Keep the hope alive, everybody! Hold on to that feeling!

All 5 episodes of Echo come out on Disney+ on Tuesday, Jan. 9.
