6 More Great Cameos on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

Hello, everypony! Welcome to another List of Six about one of my favorite cartoons, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. If you didn’t know, I’m a total brony, but not in any of those weird, private ways. Those people are entitled to their own lives, I just like the show. It’s well-made, has relatable and interesting characters, and is clearly put together by a bunch of pop-culture loving geeks like me! Why do I say this? Because the animators like to cram a ton of awesome pop culture references into the background of nearly every episode! I chronicled some of the best cameos in a previous List a few years ago.

And now I’m back to do it again!

The pony dude abides

Since writing the last list, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has kept producing new episodes and seasons like any other non-cancelled show. And with age comes daring do, it seems, because there have been even more cameos than before! Heck, some of the pop culture reference characters have even joined the show and gotten speaking parts. I’ve gotten a couple henchies commenting to let me know about some of the new cameos, so I’ve decided to whip up another awesome cameo list!

Join me after the jump and enjoy!

Check Out TV’s Ghost Rider!

As we heard some time ago, Ghost Rider is coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.! Makes sense. That show could use a shot in the arm, and a real comic superhero could definitely provide! Plus, I don’t think Ghost Rider would fit into the Netflix shows. And it would be a real stretch to find room for him in the movies. Plus, I’m pretty sure society holds up the Nicholas Cage Ghost Rider movies as godlike, amiright? Something like that…

Anyway, here is our first look at Gabriel Luna as the Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider!

Let's just assume the flame skulls will be added later

Let’s just assume the flame skulls will be added later

Looks cool as far as I’m concerned. I approve of Agents‘ choice of the Robbie Reyes version. Johnny Blaze and the rest are cool, but Robbie Reyes can be cool, too. He’s got a lot of good story to work with, even if his comic didn’t exactly pan out. I think a lot can be done with him.

I just hope Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn’t make him an Inhuman. That would be terrible.

I Highly Recommend You Watch The Tick on Amazon

Have you heard about the new live action The Tick show on Amazon? They’ve produced a pilot with the hopes that it is popular enough to warrant an entire series. Well I’m here to tell you that the pilot is pretty great and I really hope it gets pushed to a full series pick-up.

And the best news of all is that you can watch the pilot for free online!

Yadda yadda yadda…spoon

I really enjoyed the episode. It’s realistic in all the right ways, while being just cartoony enough to definitely be The Tick. The actors are fantastic, the action is really cool, and neatest of all, it’s written and developed by Ben Edlund, the guy that created The Tick in the first place! How cool is it that the original creator gets to come back and reimagine his most famous creation for a new adaptation? I also really like the big twist of the episode, but I won’t spoil it here.

I don’t know how this pilot program thing really works, but hopefully if we spread the word enough, The Tick will be seen and enjoyed by all. And then picked up for a full series!

Right in the Heartstrings

Want to see 40 seconds that will jab you right in the feels? How about this awesome Firefly animated teaser!

Oh man, that’s a gut punch. That’s a…that’s a whallop. Professional animator Stephen Byrne put this together, and if any of us wins the lottery, we need to hire him to make this a reality. Simple as that. Whoo boy.

New Luke Cage Trailer Brings the Goods!

Are you ready for a full-sized Luke Cage trailer? You better be, because the Internet delivers!

Looks awesome! This is gonna be another great show from Marvel and Netflix. Cage looks just as badass and cool as he did in Jessica Jones. But we gotta wait until the end of September before we can actually watch the darn thing.
