This Star Wars: Visions Season 2 Trailer is Everything

A second season of Star Wars: Visions is coming out on May the Fourth and it looks amazing. Seriously. I cannot praise enough just how god damned good this looks. If you don’t remember, Visions is an anthology show where a bunch of different, high profile animation studios get to do whatever they want with Star Wars. Doesn’t have to be in canon, doesn’t have to feature existing characters; they just get to go wild.

And they do!

Jeez louise, I don’t even know what to say about this trailer. It’s beautiful. The action, the animation, the humor, the heart; just look at it all! I don’t who all the animation studios are, and we obviously don’t know what their shorts will be about. But did you catch the stuff from the Wallace and Gromit folks, Aardman Animations? That is a genius get! I cannot wait to binge Visions Season 2. It’s gonna be wild. It’s gonna be a blast.

Just gotta wait until May the Fourth!

Our First Look at the Ahsoka TV Show!

This is a welcome surprise! There was a big Star Wars Celebration event last night or today or something, and all sorts of Star Wars news is hitting the internet today. Like, Daisy Ridley is going to return as Rey for a new movie where she reforms the Jedi Order?! Wild! And here we’ve got a full trailer for the Ahsoka TV show, which is coming out in August!

Wowzers! Not only do we get more Ahsoka, but they just drop the live action debuts of Hera Syndulla and Sabine Wren just like that! With a bit of Ezra and Thrawn to boot! And some orange-bladed lightsaber bad guys, one of whom is Ray freakin’ Stevenson?!

Fanboy giddiness aside, this trailer didn’t do too much for me. It all looks cool, sure. But what really makes it stand apart from anything else that has featured a Jedi hero taking on some red-hued lightsaber bad guys? It’s a bunch of general Star Wars action. And all of it is undercut by the sequel trilogy set after this, since we know where it’s all going to lead, and that’s nowhere fun. But I suppose I have some amount of faith that they can pull this off. Or maybe I’ll just have to be happy that we get an Ahsoka show with live action Rebels.

I did put together a List of Six not too long ago about things I want to see in this Ahsoka show. Let’s see if any pan out.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is Coming Sooner Than I Thought

I enjoyed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order as much as the next gamer. And now we’ve got the sequel coming in only a month! Who knew it was coming so soon? Probably everybody. They put out these release dates way ahead of time. I guess I’ve just been too blinded looking forward to that new Zelda game in May. I’ll probably definitely get and play Survivor when it comes out. I’ve got to continuously justify splurging on this Playstation 5, after all.

Looks like fun. I still don’t care about Cal Kestis. People really love this guy, but he’s just a video game protagonist to me. And it looks like he’s getting up to all sorts of new mischief. Two lightsabers?! I think I played the first game on my PS4. I wonder if my PS5 can somehow read my saved games from my previous console to port over the lightsaber I designed. Or maybe we’ll all just design new lightsabers from scratch.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor comes out on April 28!

The Mandalorian Season 3 is Definitely For Me!

After years of waiting, and multiple Star Wars shows in between, we’re finally going to get the third season of The Mandalorian. I still think it’s weird that we had some major story movement during The Book of Boba Fett, but I watched that, so I’m fully up to speed. They can make these shows how they like. I’m ready for this new season and I’m ready for this story!

Looks great! It’s a little funny that all these other Mandalorians are rainbow-colored, while he gets to stay this cool, gleaming silver dude. But if it works, it works. We’re gonna learn a lot more about the Mandalorians as a people, and that should be cool. And we’re gonna get even more about Grogu’s backstory, which we’re all dying to see!

The third season of The Mandalorian comes to Disney+ on March 1.

There’s Gonna Be More Bad Batch

The Bad Batch was a pretty OK cartoon. When it was good, it was good. When it was mediocre, it was really mediocre. But it’s ultimately more Star Wars content, and that’s always fun. I like Star Wars. You like Star Wars. Let the people make their cartoons.

The biggest surprise in the new trailer is the return of Gungi, the wookiee Jedi! He was in an episode or two of The Clone Wars and is notable for having a badass wooden lightsaber. So I guess we have yet another Jedi who survived Order 66. That’s fine, especially if it’s Gungi. He’s a cool dude, and more power to him. Gungi and Omega should make for a fun pairing.

The Bad Batch returns to Disney+ on Jan. 4.
