I’ve Got the Star Wars Chills!
I’m as big of a Star Wars fan as anybody, so of course I’m looking forward to The Force Awakens later this year. And man, did yesterday’s new teaser give me chills! It’s only a few seconds long, but that ending!
Hot damn! That’s some exciting lightsaber action! We don’t even really know the characters yet, but it got me excited!

Some Nifty Movie Pics to Warm Us Over on This Friday
Apparently, yesterday was the day to reveal nifty art from upcoming movies! First up is the first official pic of Michael Fassbender in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie. He looks pretty neat. I don’t think he’s playing any of the characters from the video game.
Next up is a pretty awesome picture from Captain America: Civil War, that reveals the two sides of the upcoming conflict! There were more pictures released online, some of which were endorsed by Jeremy Renner, but this one is the best! I love the little mini Ant-Man hanging out on Cap’s shoulder.
If you aren’t already, it’s time to get excited for Civil War next year!

Mad Max: Fury Road is Honestly One of the Best Movies of the Summer!
I’ve seen a handful of movies so far this year, and Mad Max: Fury Road is the surprise smash hit so far! It’s neck-and-neck with Avengers: Age of Ultron for my true favorite. And Screen Junkies recognizes this awesomeness with a great Honest Trailer!
If you haven’t seen it yet, do yourself a favor and find a way to watch Mad Max: Fury Road. Maybe it’s still in theaters somewhere! Or wait for the DVD! It’s every bit as great as any action movie could be!

The Real Karate Kid
I never saw Karate Kid growing up. In fact, I missed out on a lot of defining movies of the 80s because my family just didn’t go to the theater to see films. We rented movies from the bargain rental shops, and those films rarely included the regular picks of my generation.
But I do enjoy going back and giggling at the old movies with the hindsight of the 21st century.
Kudos to J. Matthew Turner for this look back on this silly movie. One of my favorite comedians, Gary Gulman, has a pretty good riff on the Karate Kid too.
Sometimes you’ve just got to kick nostalgia in the tuckus.

Old School Batman Killed More People Than I Remember
I’m a fan of Batman’s ‘No Kill’ rule. Just because he’s a vigilante doesn’t mean he has the right to take anyone’s life into his own hands. It’s not his fault that society can’t properly deal with the Joker or keep him from escaping. But Mr. Sunday Movies put together a fun supercut of all the henchmen that Batman killed in the movies.
Besides, the real question at this point should be: why hasn’t Commissioner Gordon killed the Joker?
