6 Thoughts on Shazam!
The battle of the Captain Marvel movies is finally in full swing, with Shazam! showing up to deliver a nearly knockout blow to the Marvel counterpart. Which one is better? Hard to say. Both have their strengths. But I think I’m going to give the edge to Shazam! because it’s just so much fun!
Movie Rating: 9/10 – Great.
DC Comics has cast off the shackles of the grim and gritty Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice films and they have embraced the fun of their superheroes. They’ve also done away with the need to tie everything together, even though Shazam! has several references to the wider DCEU. I think that is a good choice for them. It frees up each movie to be focused on itself. And if they’re going to try to repair the damage they did to themselves, keeping things simple is the best choice.

Good Old DC Movies
I went and saw Shazam! last night and it was great! Very fun, very enjoyable; another quality movie out of DC. I’m excited to see them fully turning away from the horrors of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Likewise, honestly, I also enjoyed Aquaman when it came out!
The Honest Trailers people are a reliable source of enjoyable videos for me to post on a lazy Friday off from work. They need to get more credit for that contribution to society!

The Joker Movie Is Real; I Have Proof!
When all new DC superhero movies are announced as being considered, I doubt they’re going to happen. Once upon a time, they announced a Metal Men movie, and a Lobo movie! Can you imagine?
At any rate, DC has successfully made a Joker stand alone movie with no connection to the Jared Leto Joker. They did it! Those damn fools, they did it! And it looks pretty good.
I’m not a fan of the Joker. I don’t really care for the character at all. So I don’t really have any hype for this film. But I’m a sucker for watching any new superhero or superhero-adjacent movie, so I’ll definitely go see Joker on Oct. 4. It looks moody and well-made. That’s gotta count for something!

Tony Stark and Friends Are Making an Avengers Movie
What’d’ya’know! It’s a brand new Avengers: Endgame trailer! It’s short, but damn if it isn’t full of fun new footage and details! Fortunately, it still doesn’t really give away anything of the total film. Marketing for Endgame has been phenomenal!
None of the trailers have given away much of the story, and yet all of them have been wonderful teasers for the full movie. It’s been great!
Tickets are also now on sale. I’m going to pick up mine when I go see Shazam! this week. I don’t know about you lot, but I’ve got those fancy, reclining seats at my movie theater. I’m going to have to show up a full hour in advance when Avengers: Endgame arrives in theaters. Not that I mind. I will gladly sit in the theater lobby and play on my phone for an hour if it means I can get the most perfect seat in the theater.

Bill Murray and Friends Are Making a Zombie Movie
A trailer randomly arrived online yesterday for The Dead Don’t Die, a new zombie film starring “the greatest zombie cast ever disassembled”. Considering the cast in this trailer, I have to agree.
Seemed like a good trailer to share with everybody! Zombie movies are a dime a dozen. They’re even making another Zombieland! That’s pretty fun. But I say we should keep The Dead Don’t Die on our schedules. Comes out on June 14.
