All the New Marvel Trailers: Loki, Falcon & Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Ms. Marvel!

The big Disney investor summit took place tonight and they dropped so much info about upcoming Disney projects that I am not equipped to handle it all! But what I can do is share a bunch of awesome trailers that were released online Thursday night! And they are some great trailers! Disney and Marvel are sparing no expense!

Not for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

It arrives on March 19.

Not for WandaVision.

That’s coming on Jan. 15.

We get our first look at the Loki show.

That’s coming in the fall of 2021.

We even got our first ever footage of the Ms. Marvel show! Holy cow!

That thing has barely begun filming, so I’m so excited to see even a little footage! We also heard that Kamala Khan is already planned to jump into the Captain Marvel 2 movie when that comes around!

Then here’s a big look at the What If…? series, coming in the summer.

And in just general news, we had the Fantastic Four movie confirmed for sure, complete with initial logo. And Jon Watts, the director of the MCU Spider-Man movies, will direct the Fantastic Four movie.

Further on in TV news, Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn (Talos the Skrull) will star in a Secret Invasion TV show. Don Cheadle will return as War Machine in an Armor Wars show, wherein bad guys get their hands on Iron Man technology. Dominique Thorne has been cast as Riri Williams in an Ironheart TV show. Tatiana Maslany has been confirmed as Jennifer Walters in a She-Hulk show, which will also see the return of Tim Roth as Abomination! James Gunn is doing a Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special for 2022.

So yeah, a ton of big news! How exciting! Now let’s go watch those trailers again…

6 Things I Want to See in the Hawkeye TV Show

Last week, we finally got some major news about the Hawkeye TV show coming to Disney+, including the fact that Hailee Steinfeld will be starring as Kate Bishop. I think that’s great! But here’s the thing: most of the news we got confirmed everything I’d want to see in a Hawkeye TV show. So what the heck am I going to put into this list?

Remember when he did this?

My list of things I’d want to see on the Hawkeye show begins and ends with Matt Fraction’s legendary Hawkeye comic book run, which I consider an era-defining comic from the 2000s. And the news last week confirmed that the show is definitely taking that comic as direct inspiration, from both the inclusion of Pizza Dog to the villain, Clown. So what’s left to even talk about?

Welp, I managed to find a couple other things and cobbled this list together. Sometimes, even when they use the best source material possible, these adaptations can really muck things up. So allow me to offer six guidelines of things I’d like to see in the upcoming Hawkeye TV show!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 12/5/20

The hype is real, people! By this time next week, I will be playing Cyberpunk 2077 and hopefully immersing myself in a wonderful world of madness. Here’s hoping my base Playstation 4 can handle it! Otherwise, I guess we can talk about some comics this week, like Batman, Far Sector and, oh look, The Union!

Comic Book of the Week goes to Thor #10 for another exciting, action-packed adventure. Though it pains me to award such a title to a comic that would do this to Beta Ray Bill.

Don’t steal his horse spirit!

Meanwhile, this week also saw the start of King in Black and I read it…and it’s fine. I haven’t followed hardly any of Donny Cates’ ongoing Venom saga, but I try to check in on Big Events when I’m in the mood. I won’t be giving this one full reviews because I’m not that interested…though since I’m on vacation, maybe I’ll go back and read all of Cates’ Venom? Would that be something? Also, while I have your attention, I just wrapped up the Hulu show Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency and that is a strong recommendation from me! That show was brilliant!

Comic Reviews: Batman #104, Far Sector #9, Strange Adventures #7, Thor #10, The Union #1 and X-Factor #5.

Who’s Ready For a Whole Bunch of Hawkeye TV Casting News?

We’ve known for a while now that Disney and Marvel were working on a Hawkeye TV show. There have also been rumors about the storyline for the show and even some casting. But I don’t really like to report on rumors, especially when they’re vehemently denied by the people involved.

Welp, shooting has begun in New York City and we’ve got a whole bunch of confirmations and casting news to revel in! Turns out the Hawkeye TV show is going to feature Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton from the Avengers movies mentoring Kate Bishop, the other Hawkeye!

And Kate Bishop will be played by Hailee Steinfeld!

This hasn’t been officially confirmed by Disney, and Steinfeld did a lot of denying over the past few months, but she has now been actively spotted on set with Renner, so it’s for real.

One of the antagonists in the show will be the Clown, played by Fra Fee.

Which means the Matt Fraction Hawkeye comic will likely be an inspiration — which is good, because I consider that comic to be one of the best comics of the century so far.

We’ve also got Tony Dalton as the Swordsman, Hawkeye’s mentor when he was just starting out. So that’s pretty neat!

And likely means we’ll see plenty of flashbacks to Hawkeye getting his start as a master archer. I’m down with that.

Other casting news includes newcomer Alaqua Cox as Echo. I would have posted a picture, but I couldn’t find any images of Alaqua Cox on Google. I guess this is her first starring role. Echo is a fun character.

There’s also going to be Vera Farmiga as Kate Bishop’s mom and Zahn McClarnon as Echo’s father. So that’s nifty!

Florence Pugh’s upcoming Black Widow movie character, Yelena Belova, is also rumored to appear in the show. That is also cool! The Hawkeye TV show is shaping up to be pretty excellent. Marvel’s going to have a whole heck of a lot of fun TV shows coming! I can’t wait!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 11/28/20

Man, oh man! What an awesome episode of The Mandalorian that was! Don’t worry, you’ll find no spoilers here! That was just an exciting episode…far more exciting than this weeks comics, which include new Doctor Doom and a relaunched Power Pack!

Comic Book of the Week goes to the finale to X of Swords. Not because its the best comic of the week, but because it is the most momentous. I’ll give it that.

At least Apocalypse has had something new to do

Meanwhile, I’ve been watching the new Animaniacs revival and it’s fine. I’ve laughed a few times, and am generally enjoying the show. But I don’t think it’s…evolved as it should have. The show doesn’t justify its revival after more than 20 years. And maybe that’s too high a standard to hold the Animaniacs to, but maybe I just feel like being contrarian.

Comic Reviews: Doctor Doom #9, Power Pack #1, X-Men #15, Excalibur #15 and X of Swords: Destruction #1.
