Maggott is Back to Full Slugs!
As many of you comic book fans know, Maggott is one of the coolest X-Men ever. It’s a simple matter of facts. He’s one of my favorites, and a new milestone was reached this week in Children of the Atom #1! Granted, it may not have been reached this week…but this is the week I first noticed. Maggott has finally been reunited with both of his slugs! Eany and Meany are back, baby!
What am I talking about? It’s simple!
Once upon a time, Maggott “died” in the pages of Weapon X, when he was sent off to the Neverland Ranch. We never saw him die, but it was definitely implied. Before Maggott died, he left one of his slugs with a kid he’d met.
The last we saw of that slug it was in a tank in Mister Sinister’s lab. No idea what happened to the kid.
How do I know this stuff? Because I paid really close attention to Maggott during this time period. Maggott is a cool guy!
At any rate, Maggott was brought back during Necrosha years later, but he was down to just one slug. This continued for a while as Maggott made random background appearances here at there. At one point, they turned him into a hipster.
And that’s a brief history of Maggott! Bringing us to this week’s Children of the Atom #1, in which Maggott has both of his slugs back.
Eany and Meany are back and everything is great now. Also, how did he get the second slug back? Probably died again and got resurrected with both of them back. I’m just gonna go with that for my head canon.

6 Thoughts on WandaVision
WandaVision is over and the world may never be the same! After a year and a half, we finally have new Marvel content in our lives and I love how excited the world became for this TV show! None of us knew what to expect with Marvel Studios transitioning to television, but I think most of us are pleased as punch with the result.
TV Show Rating: 8/10 – Very Good.
It should come as no surprise that I loved WandaVision. I make no bones about the fact that I am a dedicated Marvel fanboy. I love their stuff, and I loved this new TV show. The performances were excellent. The use of characters was fun. And the main story, about grief and witchcraft, was a blast. This thing succeeded at everything it tried to do. I’ll admit it wasn’t perfect, but it was still very enjoyable and entertaining viewing. Obviously, I have thoughts.
Join me after the jump for my thoughts and review on WandaVision! Expect FULL SPOILERS for the whole season.

Continuing Marvel Comics’ long legacy of insect-based armored characters comes Murder Hornet! This character is tickling my pinks enough to share it with everybody on my blog. She’s going to be part of the Squadron Savage in the new Heroes Reborn event this summer.
This is just fun. That’s why I wanted to share it. And why I haven’t really shared anything else from Heroes Reborn. I’m probably not going to read much of that crossover, even though I’m finding the whole idea fun.
Basically, Marvel is going to do another alternate reality, and this time, the Avengers never existed. Heroes Reborn is going to be a universe where the Squadron Supreme was the premiere superhero team. And, of course, the Squadron Supreme is Marvel’s parody version of the Justice League. So it should be an interesting world! I may pick up some of the comics.
But mostly, I want to know more about Murder Hornet! And I want her to jump into the regular Marvel Universe, if she is indeed someone brand new. I just love how on-the-nose this character is. Rather than come up with a new villain named “Pandemic”, Marvel instead focused in on the murder hornets from last year. It’s silly and great!
And, again, it works because Marvel has a long history of armored insect characters. There’s the original Beetle, the new Beetle, Ant-Man, Yellow Jacket, Grasshopper, Hornet, Red Locust and more! That’s probably what tickles me the most about Murder Hornet! I will be watching her career with great interest.

Let the WandaVision Teasing Begin!
WandaVision is over and everything is worse now. Fortunately, it’s about to get better, because now all our favorite YouTube video-makers can go hog wild on the show! And first up is Pitch Meeting by that one funny dude at Screen Rant!
He hits a lot of the most obvious bits, but it’s still funny! And we’ve got plenty more videos in the weeks ahead to enjoy. How WandaVision should have ended, perhaps? Suffice to say, WandaVision was good stuff!
I’ll have my review/thoughts on the show on Wednesday!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 3/6/21
Wowza! What a wonderful finale for WandaVision! I think that show has been pretty perfect, and I’ll have a review/my thoughts on Wednesday! But for now, let’s bask in its utter coolness for a little bit longer. It helps that we only had a few comics this week.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Runaways #34 because it’s another amazing issue of down-to-Earth shenanigans! This is one of my absolute favorite comics right now. I only wish it came out more often!
Meanwhile, DC launched their Infinite Frontier dressage this week with Infinite Frontier #0. It’s an issue that’s mostly set-up, so I didn’t give it a full review. It teases all of the new character directions and it’s a pretty fun comic. It accomplishes what it set out to do. I’m excited for some new DC comics to try. I don’t know exactly which ones I’ll be trying. More than a few, for sure!
Comic Reviews: Batman #106, Power Pack #4 and Runaways #34.
