Ant-Man and the Wasp Reminds Us That There is Still Joy in the World
Part of me was curious why we didn’t get a new Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer to go before Avengers: Infinity War. Then I remembered that Marvel doesn’t want to take attention away from their current awesome movie release by focusing too much on their next awesome movie release.
So I think this fun and hilarious trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer is a nice palate cleanser from the ending of Infinity War this past weekend.
Looks awesome! Ant-Man is my favorite hero in the MCU and I’m excited that he’s getting a full-on sequel, perhaps even a trilogy if this one does well. I think this movie could be a really fun thrill ride of superheroics and special effects. And giving the Wasp a big role will be great. Michael Peña is also hilarious in this trailer.
The villain, The Ghost, looks damn cool, too. And I’m glad to see Scott’s daughter coming back big time. She was a great part of the first film.
I think this is going to be set before Infinity War. And maybe the post-credits stinger will be Captain America showing up to recruit Scott and Hope for Infinity War 2.
Here’s to getting the Ant-Man gang back together on July 6!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 4/28/18
How about that Avengers: Infinity War, huh? That sure was something! I enjoyed the movie, but I wasn’t blown away. I’m starting to think I let myself get too hyped up for these Marvel movies. But then I remember that Black Panther and Thor: Ragnarok were amazing. So mileage may vary. Expect a fuller review on Wednesday.
As for comics this week, we’ve got a whole pile! No Avengers, I’m afraid, because I don’t read any current Avengers comics. Though the latest issue of Mighty Thor, which caps off the saga of Jane Foster: Goddess of Thunder, wins Comic Book of the Week.
Though I wasn’t particularly happy with how Mighty Thor ended. It’s a gorgeous comic, at least. Wherever Russell Dauterman goes next, I’m sure to follow.
Also, The Hunt for Wolverine kicked off this week and I will not be reading or reviewing. I think Marvel really, really dropped the ball after killing Wolverine, and I have zero interest in his return. He should have stayed dead.

My 6 Favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe Moments (So Far)
Avengers: Infinity War is upon us! The most anticipated film of the year debuts tomorrow night and I’ll be there for the first showing in town! I can’t wait! The hype is through the roof and beyond exciting. I’m one of those suckers who has loved every single Marvel movie so far, including Avengers: Age of Ultron and Thor: The Dark World.
To celebrate the post 10 years of Marvel Cinematic Universe awesomeness, I’ve thrown together a list of my favorite moments! Why not bask in some real cool bits and pieces before diving in to the next epic? And I’ve contained the list to just the movies, even though there are some great moments throughout the TV shows, too!
Join me after the jump for my favorite scenes, lines of dialogue and other great moments from the past 10 years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
We Finally Get to See Venom!
But is this all we’ll ever see of Venom? What I’m saying is, watch this new trailer for the Venom movie, coming out in October.
I think movie Venom looks pretty great. It’s an exciting transformation scene and voice. The problem is that rumors are swirling that Eddie Brock only becomes Venom in the movie’s climax, and that’s absolutely something I can believe will happen. Why pay for all that CGI through the whole movie when SONY can make a crappy Venom movie and only have him go full monster at the end? It doesn’t matter if that’s a terrible idea. Movie studios are not above making terrible ideas, especially SONY and their attempts to make a Spider-Man movieverse.
So we’ll see!
