6 Things I Want to See in Daredevil Season 2

Good news, everybody! Marvel and Netflix have given the green light to a second season of Daredevil, due to hit our screens next year! After the huge success and popularity of the first season, everybody seems ready to jump right into more Daredevil without waiting for the Defenders to come and go. This is great news! There is so much more Daredevil goodness that we need to experience! So many more stories that can be told!

Like how he polishes all those buckles

I’m already well into a second viewing of all 13 episodes. The show is just that much fun. And like any good comic book fan, my mind is racing with where the show can go in Season 2. Some ideas are more obvious — and definitely made my list — and some are just what I’d like to see going forward. So join me after the jump for six things I hope we get in the second season of Daredevil.

And feel free to leave some of your own suggestions in the comments!

6 Thoughts on the First Season of Daredevil

Like most comic book geeks, I binge-watched the new Daredevil TV show on Netflix this past weekend and loved it. The action, the acting, the storytelling, the superheroics all came together for an amazing show, just like we all hoped it would be. And Daredevil is just the beginning of Marvel’s foray into prestige television, with several more Netflix shows lined up. I couldn’t be happier that Marvel is doing for TV what they did for movies.

And, I suppose, what they did for comics…

In lieu of an episode-by-episode review or anything more substantial, I’ve decided to devote this week’s List of Six to my thoughts on the season. I’ve been doing similar lists for the other superhero TV shows, with Arrow, Flash and Agents of SHIELD coming later this spring.

So join me after the jump for my rambling, ramshackle review of the first season of Daredevil! I will try to keep SPOILERS to a minimum, but no promises.

6 Silly Daredevil Villains Who Probably Won’t Appear on Netflix

The new Daredevil TV show premieres in only a few days, and early reviews praise it as a phenomenal show that captures the darkness and the grit that comes with the character. Daredevil is a different sort of program than the humor and action packed Avengers movies, while still maintaining that Marvel quality. Vincent D’Onofrio’s performance as the Kingpin is being hailed as a showstopper.

The story of a blind attorney who fights crime in Hell’s Kitchen, Daredevil has consistently been one of Marvel’s best comics — but there’s probably a lot of Daredevil history that’s going to be left on the cutting room floor.

Lady Bullseye is a real thing

For all the great Kingpin stories out there, and the legendary comic runs by Frank Miller and Brian Michael Bendis, Daredevil had his fair share of silliness back in the day. Characters like the Owl and Gladiator are set to premiere in the first season, and classic foes like Bullseye and Elektra are probably shoe-ins for the second season, but beyond those characters, Daredevil’s Rogues Gallery doesn’t have a very deep bench.

Join me after the jump to check out the 6 silliest Daredevil villains, none of whom are probably going to make it into the new Netflix show.

The 6 Biggest Problems of Batman Eternal

The final issue of Batman Eternal came out today, and I am not proud to say I have read all 52 issues. I am disappointed in myself for going through with it. I wish I had allowed myself to quit reading a long time ago. But for some insane reason, I just kept buying, just kept reading, and documented my thoughts in my weekly Hench-Sized Reviews every Saturday. I would say this was a Herculean effort, but it’s probably more like Sisyphus.

Gear up, everybody. This is gonna be a big one.

Still, I read the entire series, and I’m more than ready to plow through the final issue. But a feat of this magnitude deserves a little something extra. I have hated Batman Eternal since the beginning — but plenty of other reviewers around the web have loved the comic. So I’ve decided to do my best to explain why I hated Batman Eternal so much. This was a popular comic, and DC is already planning Year Two. A lot of people loved it, but why did I hate it so so much?

The 6 Best Comic Book Attorneys

I’m in the mood for some courtroom drama! As I mentioned earlier this week, I’m deep in the heart of an intense murder trial, covering it as part of my day job as a mild-mannered newspaper reporter. The last time I had a trial and a List of Six collide, I wrote about 6 Superheroes Put on Trial. This time, I’ve decided to take a look at superhero attorneys!

Objection!

Unless you’re Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark, every superhero needs a day job. Both Clark Kent and myself are mild-mannered reporters. Spider-Man is a freelance photographer. D-Man is a hobo. The list goes on and on. Several comic book heroes (and even some villains) are lawyers! They fight for justice in the courtroom during the day, then fight for justice on the streets at night. Sounds like a pretty solid comic book premise to me.

Join me after the jump for the six best comic book lawyers!
