My 6 Favorite Things of 2015
And so we bid goodbye to another year. Overall, I think 2015 was good to me. I went to England, the first time I’ve been out of the country. I had a successful Kickstarter and self-published my first comic book, Gamer Girl & Vixen. I bought a new high-end computer. I got two new winter coats. Life is pretty good, all things considered.
So let’s engage in that great Internet tradition of counting down all the best pop culture of the year!
What was my favorite movie of the year? My favorite comic book or TV show? Did I buy any good action figures this year? I know for a fact that I didn’t hear any new or interesting music in 2015, because I’m a square. But we definitely had a lot of fun stuff! From Age of Ultron to The Force Awakens, what did 2015 have in store?
And please share your own favorites in the comments!
6 Coolest Abominable Snowmen in Pop Culture
Christmas time has come once again, and being the easily manipulated fool that I am, I’m doing another Christmas List of Six! I’ve done elves, I’ve done reindeer, I did Santa Claus, and now I’m turning my attention to that lovable Christmas friend, the snowman!
But not just any snowman, I’m talking of course about…the Abominable Snowman!
The Yeti is a far cooler creature than someone like Frosty the Snowman, and the Yeti usually deals in a lot cooler magicks. Yes, yetis are real, and they totally practice magic. Everybody knows this. They live in the Himilayas. They’re the Asian branch of the Sasquatch family. It’s basic cryptozoology, everybody.
Join me after the jump for the coolest yetis and Abominable Snowmen in pop culture!
6 Weirdest Jedi (That You May Recognize)
A little movie called Star Wars debuts tomorrow, a moment that the entire world has been waiting decades for. I’ll be in line at the first possible showing here in my town, and I hope to have a review up on Friday. I hope it’s good. I’ll probably like it, regardless. This is a pretty exciting week.
So let’s talk about weird Jedi!
Last week, I focused a lot on the utter coolness of wookiee Jedi, as if Chewbacca had picked up a lightsaber. But wookiees are not the only recognizable Star Wars aliens to become Jedi in the great, expansive Star Wars Universe. Considering the fact that every single nook and cranny of Star Wars has been mapped, it should come as no surprise that writers and artists picked nearly every single iconic alien and turned them into a Jedi somewhere along the line.
Join me after the jump to continue the Star Wars celebration, and check out six of the weirdest Jedi to ever wield the Force!
6 Possible Star Wars Netflix Shows
The success of Daredevil, Jessica Jones and hopefully the rest of the Netflix Defenders has got me thinking: Why not mimic this success for Star Wars? This was definitely an experimental move for Marvel and Disney, but I’d like to think it’s paying off. And Disney clearly has no plans to ever end their series of Star Was entertainment. We’ll have a new movie and a new spin-off movie every year from now on, not to mention all the cartoons and books and video games we could ever possibly want. That’s just life from now on.
So what if Disney started making a bunch of live action, prestige Star Wars shows for Neflix?
What’s to stop them? An article I saw the other day pointed out the very real fact that few of us will live to see the final Star Wars movie. Disney will outlive us all, and they will continue making Star Wars products from now until the end of time. Rather than be angry with this, I will embrace the inevitable and brainstorm some awesome TV show ideas! Join me after the jump!
