Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 5/24/25
To my regular readers, sorry I didn’t post much this week. As I think I’ve mentioned before, life has just gotten really busy for some reason. I dunno. Anyway, some solid comics came out this week so I figured I’d review a bunch of them, like Absolute Flash and Amazing Spider-Man.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Wonder Woman #21 because this series remains an absolute banger.
Meanwhile, I’m still making my way slowly through Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which is quite fun. With no Grand Theft Auto VI later this year, I need to stretch out my gaming so I’m not spending too much money. And I can really take my time with this one. My parents have also given me their old TV (we siblings bought them a big, new one for Christmas!), so now I’m playing games on a big TV instead of my computer monitor, which I’ve been doing for years. We’ll see if I like the change.
Comic Reviews: Absolute Flash #3, Amazing Spider-Man #4, Exceptional X-Men #9 and Wonder Woman #21.

Late last week, we got the first look of the second season of Peacemaker, and it looks super sweet. It should go without saying that the first season of Peacemaker was phenomenal television. Loved every second of that show. So you best believe I can’t wait for season 2.
And season 2 looks great! I’m not some big continuity wonk. It doesn’t matter to me that season 1 was part of the previous DC movieverse, and season 2 will be part of the new movieverse. It’s all just Peacemaker to me. And I can’t wait to see these loveable losers get up to some new hilarious and heartwarming mischief.
Peacemaker returns to HBO on Aug. 21.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 5/10/25
Do the weeks seem longer to anybody else? I know I’m working a lot, but damn, the weekend seems to take forever. Anyway, new comics, good stuff all around, like X-Men and Spider-Man.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Absolute Superman #7 for an awesome new origin for Brainiac.
Meanwhile, The Museum of the Uncanny Kickstarter was a success! So I will have a new short comic story entering the world sometime soon. Hopefully you all ordered your copy and will get to read it! Beyond that, I’m loving Andor, Doctor Who and The Last of Us, obviously, and continue to slowly make my way through Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Fun game.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 4/26/25
Another week has come and gone and another batch of comics is upon us. A ton of books I’m reading came out this week, and somehow I found the time to review a whole bunch of them, including Absolute Martian Manhunter, Batman: Hush 2 and Amazing Spider-Man.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Absolute Wonder Woman, which shouldn’t be a surprise, because few things can touch this comic other than the regular Wonder Woman book and the other main Absolutes.
Meanwhile, I finished The Pitt last night and it definitely lived up to all the hype its been getting! Excellent medical drama. And I’m winding down on Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and am in need of another game. Possibly that Elder Scrolls: Oblivion remaster…
Double meanwhile, the Kickstarter campaign remains ongoing for The Museum of the Uncanny anthology! I’ve got a short comic story in the book and we’re doing well as we head into the final weeks of the campaign! Force me to put my money where my mouth is! I spend all this time reviewing comics, come and read one I’ve written myself!
