Behold the Gamer Girl & Vixen Web Comic!

Hey everybody! Big news today from the me, the guy who writes the Henchman-4-Hire blog content. As longtime readers know, I’m not just a comic book blogger, but I’m also working on my own self-published comics on the side. I put out the first Gamer Girl & Vixen graphic novel with my team a few years ago, and we’re getting ready to release the sequel very soon.

To kick off the build-up and hype train, we’ve also commissioned a few short web comics starring our two main characters! And we’re releasing the first comic today on Global Comix!

So click on the link, click on the picture, and go check out the first Gamer Girl & Vixen short comic! I will be sharing each new comic when they come out on Fridays for the next few weeks! And if you never read the original Gamer Girl & Vixen graphic novel, that’s also available digitally at Global Comix. We also have plenty of the tpbs available if anybody wants one. Just let me know!

And gear up for more GG&V content in the days, weeks and months ahead!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 1/13/24

Another week, more comics, the world keeps spinning around and around. Some pretty good and enjoyable comics this week, like Transformers and the first issue of the hotly anticipated Ultimate Spider-Man #1.

Comic Book of the Week is Sensational She-Hulk for an excellent issue of superheroes being normal people, which I love.

I want more dancing in my superhero comics

Meanwhile, I watched Echo this past week and I enjoyed it. Definitely nothing special or outstanding, but it’s a solid corner of the MCU that could be further explored in the future. I wouldn’t mind seeing her interact with other heroes and actually play a role. Beyond that, my interest in Project Zomboid is definitely beginning to wane after a few unfortunate deaths. I just wanna play the game and not have to keep restarting! Stupid zombies.

Comic Reviews: Sensational She-Hulk #4, Transformers #4 and Ultimate Spider-Man #1.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 1/6/24

Happy New Year, everybody! It’s 2024 and all is still pretty crappy with the world. It’s hopefully going to be a good year for me in terms of making comics. I’ve got some fun announcements coming up in that regard! But for now, let’s deal with normal comics, like Batman, Fantastic Four and the start of the Fall of the House of X.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Birds of Prey #5 for another fun story chapter, even if the change in art is very, very jarring.

What did the five fingers say to the face?

Meanwhile, I’m still meandering my way through Project Zomboid, which taps into my love of pedantry in video games. I just finished off the new season of Rick and Morty, and that was a hoot! And this weekend I’m binging Carol and the End of the World on Netflix. I’ve got high hopes for this show.

Comic Reviews: Batman #141, Birds of Prey #5, Captain America #5, Fall of the House of X #1 and Fantastic Four #15.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 12/30/23

Happy New Year, everyone! In a few short nights, it’ll be 2024, and we can all keep moving on with our lives. Thankfully, we’ve got some solid, enjoyable enough comics to end the current year with, like Power Rangers and She-Hulk.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Duke #1 for an exciting and fun start to the new G.I. Joe comics in the Energon Universe. No Snake Eyes yet, though. Hopefully they’re saving him for some thing good.

This might be a movie soon

Meanwhile, I had a great Christmas with the family! Met the new baby. Got some great presents, some great comics to read. My brother’s housemate got me an air fryer! That should be fun. And it was a pleasure, as always, to see family. Good time was had by all. No plans for New Year’s Eve, though. Probably just video games and movies. Currently enjoying the second season of Marvel’s What If…?

Comic Reviews: Duke #1, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #115 and Sensational She-Hulk #3

My 6 Favorite Things of 2023

Who could imagine that the end of another year has come. I turned 40 this year, and life is what it is. My job got a lot busier, my bank account got a lot smaller, and I’ve got a few different comic projects in the works! More on that later. For now, it’s time to celebrate my favorite pop culture media from the past year.

As always, I don’t listen to music, so I don’t have any favorite songs from the year. Mostly I’m here to talk about video games, movies, TV show and comics, my favorite hobbies! I’ve thrown in a couple of other entries to get up to six, because a man has a theme.

So join me after the jump for my favorite bits from pop culture in the past year. And feel free to share your own favorite things from the past year in the comments below!
