Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 9/16/17
So, uh, comics, hey? Some came out this week! I read them, enjoyed them and have written up a couple reviews! Everybody likes those, right? Sorry, I’m a little distracted this weekend! But I still love comics.
Comic Book of the Week goes to the new issue of Mister Miracle. Whatever writer Tom King is building here, I think it’s going to be good!
The second issue of DC’s Metal event came out this week, and it was fun. They do a great job tying a lot of recent Batman stories together, reaching all the way back to Final Crisis and The Return of Bruce Wayne. But in the end, I think it’s all a little silly. Like, they go to all this trouble and establish a Batman story that supposedly stretches to every conceivable corner of the DC Universe…and it’s all about just bringing a bunch of evil, multidimensional Batman to Earth to fight everybody.
Eh, not impressed. So far.
Comic Reviews: Hulk #10, Mister Miracle #2, Ms. Marvel #22, Runaways #1 and Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #24.

Wanna know a neat trick to make someone not feel like reading and reviewing a bunch of comics? Send him on vacation with a head cold! That’s me, ladies and gentlemen! Ugh. But I did read some comics and I’m going to review a couple of them, because I’m dedicated!
I read a couple of comics and they were all really good, like the new Batman and Hawkeye. But I think I’m going to give Comic Book of the Week to Iceman again, because it’s a really good comic. He fights the Juggernaut!
Beyond that, the new season of BoJack Horseman started, and that’s largely what I’m doing this weekend!
Comic Reviews: Batman #30, Hawkeye #10 and Iceman #5.
The 6 Best Bikini Superhero Costumes (And Their Later Improvements)
I need to level with you Henchies for today’s list. I had this big plan about going to see the new Inhumans TV premiere on the big screen last weekend, but my plans fell through and I didn’t manage to shake my cold. So my plan to write an Inhumans review listicle completely fell through. That, coupled with a Labor Day holiday spent hanging out with my parents, and only I found myself finally getting around to writing this week’s list late last night with a splitting headache.
So let’s just spend today celebrating the end of summer with some impractical bikini-like superhero costumes!

It’s fun, it’s simple, and it’s probably everything wrong with superhero costumes in their heyday. So rather than just ogle a bunch of superbabes, I’ve decided to go one step further and show off their newer, less-skimpy updated costumes! As you can see, some progress is being made! Even if some of these characters have since reverted back to their skimpier costumes…still, an effort was made. And I applaud that effort!
Join me after the jump for the six best bikini superhero costumes, and the modern upgrades that are a lot less revealing!
Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 9/2/17
Odd news, everybody! Due to a couple different factors this week, the review pile is kind of small. For one thing, it’s a fifth Wednesday, so there were already fewer books being released, and most of the comics that came out I’m way behind on. For another thing, I have been laid up with a pretty bad cold all week, and I just didn’t feel like reading a lot of comics. Oy, this stupid cold. My kingdom for a cure!
At any rate, I’ve only got two comics on the stack this week. I’m kind of taking it easy. And out of the two of them, Saban’s Go, Go Power Rangers wins Comic Book of the Week! It’s almost as much fun as the regular Power Rangers comic.
Secret Empire came to an end this week, and I couldn’t care less. I like the ambition and the general idea, but the ending isn’t anything special and the whole adventure lost steam awhile ago. It was a little too huge in scope and didn’t really earn its earnestness.
Comic Reviews: Go, Go Power Rangers #2 and Infamous Iron Man #11.
Meet Tyrannosaurus Regina!
Meet the latest edition to the cast of Gamer Girl & Vixen: Tyrannosaurus Regina! I’m rather proud of this character. I’m surprised nobody has ever used that name before in comics! Well this is me, claiming that name for all posterity! Tyrannosaurus Regina is the next hit villain sensation, and she’ll be debuting in volume 2 of Gamer Girl & Vixen!

My writing partner, Kristi McDowell, and I are already hard at work writing the script for volume 2. And we’ve got artist Gemma Moody and letterer Taylor Esposito back on board. Gemma designed T-Regina up there and she looks gorgeous and killer! Gemma has such a great eye for design.
I’ll have more information about volume 2 soon. Basically, Gamer Girl and Vixen are going to find out there’s a lot more to being a super-villain than just going on fun capers and robbing celebrities. There are some seriously dangerous bad guys out there, and they mean business!
Volume 1 is still available to purchase. Have you read it yet? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
