Tales of the Empire Trailer!

Honestly, I forgot that Tales of the Jedi existed, even though I really enjoyed it. Tales of the Jedi came out a year and a half ago, and told parallel stories about Ahsoka Tano and a young Count Dooku. It had some great chapters and some very interesting character and lore moments.

Welp, apparently it wasn’t a one-off, because now we’re getting Tales of the Empire! It’s going to come out in May and tell parallel stories about Barriss Offee and a young Morgan Elsbeth.

Looks great! I’m confident both of those characters have some good and interesting stories in them. Barriss becoming an Inquisitor should be a neat story. And perhaps Morgan Elsbeth was interesting once upon a time. This could be some good, animated Star Wars content. And I’m content with that.

All of the six shorts of Tales of the Empire will come to Disney+ on May the Fourth.

Tell It Animated Looks at Frankenstein

Tell It Animated is a great YouTube channel. Just a dude having a blast, and he’s accrued more than 1 million subscribers. Good for him! I’ve been a fan since the very beginning and will always gladly share his content. This time, he’s doing cinematic Frankensteins, possibly in connection to Lisa Frankenstein or maybe Poor Things.

Also, I am too sick still to care about the difference between Frankenstein and Frankenstein’s monster, so don’t come at me, bro. I just wanna share a fun video on this Monday so that there’s something we can enjoy. Stupid cold…

They Released a Full Inside Out 2 Trailer While I Wasn’t Looking

Once upon a time, Pixar movies were really, really great. They’re mostly mediocre these days. I don’t remember being particularly impressed with the first Inside Out. I think it was fine? It’s definitely very popular in the public’s mind. So a sequel was a good idea!

Looks good to me! Even if the idea that there are additional emotions was pre-negated by the fact that we saw adult minds in the first film, and none of them had the additional emotions. How you gonna answer that, movie? Huh?!

Ugh, I’m sick this week and my blog banter is trash. Hope you enjoyed the trailer. Inside Out 2 comes to theaters on June 14.

6 Animated Movie Sequels I Actually Want to See

I’m a big fan of animated movies, from new films like Nimona to the classics like the Kung Fu Panda trilogy. Some are better than others, obviously. And some are clearly just being pumped out to keep the brand alive. We’re right in the middle of several such instances, from Kung Fu Panda 4 coming out this week, to an unwanted, unadvertised Megamind sequel coming out last week, to the likes of Despicable Me 4, Inside Out 2 and Moana 2 coming out later this year.

I like Awkwafina; I don’t need her in everything

As much as I herald the Kung Fu Panda movies are being truly amazing, I have zero interest in actually seeing the new, fourth film in theaters. I had no interest in seeing the new Trolls movie at all, even though I rather enjoyed the first two. And obviously we’ll never see the end of the Minions on the big screen. They’re unstoppable. But I’m not opposed to all animated sequels or even trilogies. There are some franchises that I’d love to see come back for another entry.

There’s no way to know if these proposed movies would be as good as I could hope…but sometimes hoping is all we need. Join me after the jump for six animated, franchise films that I’d love to see get a sequel!

Top 6 Tyrannosaurus Rex Characters in Pop Culture

The Tyrannosaurus Rex is damn cool. Dinosaurs are already cool, and there is no cooler dinosaur than the T-Rex, the Tyrant Lizard King! Which is why the T-Rex is all over pop culture, from comics to cartoons to the big screen. I even modeled the villain of my new Gamer Girl & Vixen comic after a Tyrannosaur!

Order my comic on Kickstarter!

That’s right, I was able to tie this week’s List of Six back into my ongoing Kickstarter campaign! Such is the way of things. But Tyrannosaurus Regina is not yet a household name, so I had to put this list together out of known T-Rex characters in pop culture. The meanest, toughest, coolest and nicest Tyrannosaurs in pop culture even!

Join me after the jump for some pretty great Tyrannosaur characters!
