Strong Guy Watch: Didn’t See This Coming!
There was a super surprise Strong Guy appearance this week and I need to tell somebody! I’ve been following random Strong Guy appearances for years now, just because it’s fun. He’s a great character and doesn’t appear very often. And now he’s had one of his greatest appearances of all time.
But I won’t spoil it here. You’re going to have to join me after the jump for the big Strong Guy reveal! I warn you, only click this link if your love of Strong Guy outweighs your concerns about spoilers, and if you’re fully up to speed on X-Men projects.
There will only be light spoilers.
Strong Guy appeared in the X-Men ’97 animated series! Not only did he appear, but he got a line! He has a voice!
Fans of the original cartoon will know that Strong Guy appeared in the Iceman/X-Factor episode — my favorite episode. But Strong Guy didn’t speak in that first episode, so the voice is new!
How exciting. Strong Guy has an appearance in a non-comics medium! And a voice! I’m thrilled.
And I’m triply thrilled, frankly. This week’s episode also featured blink and you’ll miss them appearances of Multiple Man and Mimic! How wonderful! The Mimic only ever appeared in the alternate Age of Apocalypse-esque future episode in the original show, so this is is first appearance in the regular continuity. I’m tickled pink, I tell ya.
Three episodes left. I cannot wait to see what happens and who else might appear!

The Strong Guy watch! How I’ve missed it.
This appearance is almost enough to make me sign up for Disney±. Since I can’t afford it, was the voice right for Guido?
The voice…nah, I don’t think it was right for him. Not as jovial as I would have preferred. But then I also didn’t like the voice of Multiple Man in that original show episode.
Multiple Man and Strong Guy having a conversation on this show would sound like Bulk & Skull-style bullies, with weird grating voices. Not a fan.
True fans know these things. Thanks!
