Will We See a Kingdom Come Batman in the Man of Steel Sequel?
Rumors are swirling left and right about the upcoming Batman/Superman movie, everything from Wonder Woman and Flash having cameo appearances, to the batsuit being based on Jim Lee designs. Normally I wouldn’t write about these kinds of rumors, but now that they involve the possibility of Dick Grayson appearing in the film, I am all over them. I can’t help it. I want Robin to appear in this movie more than I want a low calorie french fry.
Today’s new rumor comes from Warner Bros. producer Daniel Alter who sent out a Tweet about the film this morning that makes me think the Ben Affleck Batman will be based on the comic book series Kingdom Come.
I’m saving the Tweet until after the jump so that you don’t have to be SPOILED if you don’t want to be. There’s also the possibility that this is a total lie and none of it’s true. Such is the problem with rumors. But if that’s the case, who the heck does Daniel Alter think he is that he can make up lies about the new movie?
All thanks to ComicBookMovie.com for finding this Tweet.
Now Angel Gets the Pink Slip
Peter Holmes is at it again with his Ex-Men clips. I like the Angel wings they made, they look pretty awesome. But I think Holmes is losing track of what made the first one so funny. He was actually kind of in character when firing Wolverine. Now he’s just giggling at the most obvious X-Men traits. Still funny though.
Doctor Who Prologue – The Night of the Doctor
Ever wonder what became of the 8th Doctor, played by actor Paul McGann in a single made-for-TV movie in the 90s? Wonder no more! The BBC has released this new prologue to next week’s 50th anniversary special!
That was pretty crazy, right!? Oh man. Who would have thought a little teaser prologue could contain such direly important information for the Doctor’s backstory? And finally, at long last, we learn the final fate of McGann’s Eight. Now I’m even more excited for the big episode next week!
Forgotten Characters: Gauntlet and Southpaw
Whatever happened to Gauntlet and Southpaw?
One is a surly, loud-mouthed superhero drill instructor. The other is a rebellious teenage rapscallion. Both are wielders of gigantic, alien fists – but only on one hand each. And together, Gauntlet and Southpaw are one of the most clever ideas comic writer Dan Slott ever came up with.
But where the heck have they been hiding?
Dan Slott has had a very busy career writing for Marvel Comics, tackling everyone from She-Hulk to the Great Lakes Avengers. Now he’s the head Spider-Man writer, and has been guiding Marvel’s flagship character for years. So with this kind of prominence, how could two of his most interesting characters have disappeared? You’d think the guy would have enough pull to get them added to the Mighty Avengers or the New Warriors or something, right?
The mysteries of Gauntlet and Southpaw need to be revealed! Join me after the jump to learn a bit more.
Honest Trailers: Man of Steel
If ever there was a movie that needed to be mocked, Man of Steel is it. I dislike that movie more and more as time goes on, and the DVD will be out soon, so I can watch it again! Good job, Screen Junkies, for nailing another one.
