The Top 6 Fire-Themed Comic Book Characters

Brrrr, it sure is getting chilly outside. I don’t know about the rest of you folks, but here in Central New York, it gets cold in the winter, and it gets cold fast. I’m going to have to break out the winter coat soon. So how about we delay the onset of Jack Frost with a little bit of fire! Hot, sweltering fire is exactly what we need!

Fire List 01

I could totally go for some s’mores right now

I tried this once before with snow and ice-themed comic book characters, but who wants to think of something like that on a chilly day like today? Let’s get roasty toasty with some scorching hot heroes instead!

Thank Jeebus, Arrow is Gonna Get a Real Mask

Though there’s still a little makeup around the eyes

I complained about this a long time ago, but man, Stephen Amell looked stupid with the green makeup brushed around his eyes on the TV show Arrow. Plus, in season 2, he’s not longer hiding in the shadows. He has face-to-face conversations with a lot of people who personally know Oliver Queen. The makeup just wasn’t cutting it anymore. And it never looked anything other than stupid. So good call, fine folks at Arrow. It’s nice to know you’re using your heads.

Also, how great has season 2 been, amiright?

A Little Doctor Who-mor (Get it?)

The fine people at How It Should Have Ended have decided to step away from their usual movie parodies to whip up a cartoon for the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special this week, because apparently they’re as big of Whovians as the rest of us! So if you don’t watch Doctor Who, you probably won’t have any idea what’s happening here. If you do watch Doctor Who, this is a retelling of the (almost) final goodbye between The Doctor and Rose Tyler. It’s pretty funny.

Of course, as we all know, Rose came back several times, and also comes back in the 50th anniversary special. But still, who knew their style could fit David Tennant so well? Alons-y!

The Only Batman vs. Superman Fight We Really Need to Worry About

The Batman/Superman film may be making all the headlines these days, but let’s give it up for those wacky voice actors!

The idea that former Superman voice actor Tim Daly and his son Sam, who also voices Superman, would go around making fun web videos is just the neatest thing ever. That they brought Kevin Conroy into the mix is just plain boss. Thanks to Henchperson Xavier for the tip!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 11/16/13

The week after Marvel puts a new Thor movie in theaters, they put a new Thor comic on the shelves. I hope someone in their publishing division got a promotion out of that genius move. The comic even has Malekith in it! Talk about synergy! Marvel should also be grateful that Jason Aaron writes an awesome Thor. Who could have guessed that the Asgardian God would be such a hot commodity these days?

He’s not alone, we’ve got swell comics for Batman, Nightwing, Spider-Man and the X-Men. Though Superman and Wonder woman break the streak with their ho-hum attempt at romance. Oh well. Love isn’t for everybody. But it might be for the teenagers in the original X-Men. Those kids are all about feelings. The hilarious and adorable All-New X-Men #18 wins Comic Book of the Week with ease. Check out their fancy new costumes!

I wish I had a costume that cool
