6 Thoughts on Spider-Man: Brand New Day (Review)
It’s that time again! New Spider-Man movie time! I’ve been reviewing Spider-Man movies on this blog since way back in the Amazing Spider-Man days. And I’ve loved all of them! I don’t know if they’ve ever made a real stinker of a Spider-Man movie. I don’t remember how I felt coming out of Spider-Man 3…Regardless, we’ve got a new director, a new direction maybe and a new Spider-Man movie to talk about!
Movie Rating: 10/10 – Fantastic!
I loved this movie, as I’ve loved all Spider-Man movies. I had a ton of fun. I’m starting to worry that my local theater just can’t play new movies to a quality degree, but that’s a me problem, not a movie problem. I’m still a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I never once doubted this movie. It lived up to all the hype it has been getting and I can’t wait to see how it does at the box office this weekend. The people love Spider-Man. This dude loves Spider-Man. We all love Spider-Man!

A brand new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day come out yesterday and it’s packed a lot into a regular trailer length. I won’t spoil any of it here in the opening comments, but jeez louise, there are a lot of things in this movie.
I’m not necessarily complaining. I very much have faith and trust this movie. It’s directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the genius behind Shang-Chi and Wonder Man. The dude has proven himself very capable, so I trust both him and Marvel Studios with this new Spider-Man movie. I trust they know what they’re doing to juggle and balance all these elements. I don’t need Scorpion and Boomerang to be full-length movie villains. They’re perfectly fine as jobbers!
And I’m perfectly fine with all the other stuff in this movie.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day comes to theaters on July 31.

Characters Galore in Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer!
The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrived this morning and it is chockful of characters. Can you spot them all? A lot of them were spoiled due to leaks, but their arrival is still fun. See for yourself!
It’s an OK trailer. It’s a little all over the place. I’ve never personally been a fan of the spider-mutation stuff, but it’s still classic Spider-Man, so there’s no point in fighting it. I love me some Scorpion, so I’m glad he’s here. And the other villains I’ve heard about should be a hoot! Then Punisher! Bruce Banner! The…the Hand?!
I like the grounded nature of the story so far, though it does butt up against the weird choice at the end of the previous movie where Peter Parker uses a magic spell to make everybody forget he exists. Part of me hoped he’d actually move on and make new friends, but perhaps he can try his luck chasing after his old friends. By all means.
Looks good.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will arrive in theaters on July 31.
