Here’s Another Trailer for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
There’s a second season coming up for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters soon. And to advertise such a thing, the TV producers have released another trailer. It shows monsters, actors, stories and the stakes. Seems like something a trailer should and normally do.
I dunno how I feel about this one. I think I liked the first season. I think I also felt that the first season went a little off the rails in places. And I think I felt it successfully landed the ending. I dunno. It doesn’t matter. I’ll watch this show because it’s Godzilla. There’s going to be a big new monster, and Godzilla and Kong will need to team up…so…like all the most recent movies?
I like the idea that this season will be about one really big, really bad monster and that could drive the season. The first season was about a bunch of different monsters as the main characters moved around the world, with no real monster focal point. So this could be a good way to do a second season.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2 is coming to Apple TV on Feb. 27.
TV Trailers for a Monday!
I was really busy with work last week and didn’t post much of anything. My bad. This week might see a ton of new snowfall, so that will suck as well. But rather than ignore this blog and take the easy way out, I’m gonna share some TV show trailers that came up recently! I love that sort of thing.
First up is The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, a comedy starring Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe. That sounds like a great pairing.
And it sounds like it could be a fun show. I like fun shows. I like Morgan and Radcliffe. I’ll probably definitely check this one out. Says it’s from the team that created 30 Rock, so that’s a very good sign.
The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins comes to…actual broadcast NBC, neat…on Feb. 23, so there was a sneak peak from just last night.
Next up is the trailer for the second season of Ted. That should be a hoot!
I liked the movies, I liked the first season; this should be a no-brainer watch. It’s just plain funny. With plenty of heart. Hopefully this gets as many seasons as Family Guy! And then we get a Ted 3, featuring these characters.
Ted returns to Peacock on March 5.
How about a second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters? I liked the first season well enough, though I think it went further and weirder than I was expecting or hoping.
Second season seems to be more of the same. Monsters. Weird Hollow Earth nonsense. Maybe some good character stuff? I dunno. It’s just fun that we’ve got a Godzilla TV show.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters returns to AppleTV on Feb. 27.
Lastly, there’s going to be a third season of Shrinking, which is one of the best shows on TV nowadays. I can’t praise Shrinking enough. It’s from the same people who made Scrubs (not looking forward to that revival) and the first season of Ted Lasso.
Can’t wait! Shrinking is that damn good. Watch the first two seasons if you can. It’s so heartfelt, so emotional, and also damn funny. Sitcoms don’t get much better than Shrinking.
Season 3 comes to Apple TV on Jan. 28! So it’s coming soon! How exciting.

There Have Been Far More Mechagodzilla Than I Ever Knew
It’s Tell It Animated time! And this time around he’s doing Mechagodzilla. Everybody loves a good kaiju. And I had no idea Mechagodzilla made so many appearances out there in this wide pop culture world.
That is one detailed, fancy-looking giant robot. The animator really went to extremes to get this guy done for this video! Kudos all around! And next video is the 50th! I doubt he’ll take my suggestion to do Robin. But who would be worthy for a 50th video? Maybe an update on every video he’s done so far? Or an update on his first video, whoever that was. My legit guess would be…Link! But we’ll see.
Also today is supposed to see the release of a new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, so check back later! I’ll get that up as soon as I see it posted.

6 Classic Godzilla Monsters I Want to See in the Modern Films
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire comes out this week and promises some brand new monster action — and a pink Godzilla, which I’m totally fine with. We’ve already seen the new orangutan monster in the trailers, and there are hints of even more beasties for the new film. And while I’m in favor of creating new monsters, there are still plenty of classic beasts we’ve yet to see in the new franchise.
I’m an old-school Godzilla fan from the silly ’80s period. And my favorite films were the ones where Godzilla teams up with other good monsters to fight the bad guys. The new movies have featured a lot of classic monsters, from Ghidorah, Mothra and Rodan to a surprise appearance from Mechagodzilla. But I want more! Hopefully this new film is another hit and we can keep getting these sequels over and over again, with more and more monsters!
Join me after the jump for six classic Godzilla beasties that I want to see in the new films!
Read the rest of this entryI’m Not Sure What Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is Bringing to the Table
We got a new trailer yesterday for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, and I just…I don’t know what this movie is going to offer us. Obviously we’re going to get more of Godzilla and King Kong, and I’ve enjoyed the Monsterverse movies so far. But what is this new film really bringing to the table?
The trailer spends all this time teasing something dangerous and deadly coming…and then reveals that to be a rather lanky orangutan? There are hints of another monsters, and I’ve seen some of the leaked images, but that monster doesn’t look all that amazing. And neither monster is a classic Toho monster of old reimagined into this new ‘verse. So what exactly does this movie bring to the table?
I guess I’ll find out when I see it in theaters on March 29!
