Superman and Spider-Man Are Gonna Team Up, Too!
Remember the Batman and Deadpool crossover comics this past autumn? They were great! And as many people surmised, they were only the beginning! Superman and Spider-Man were suspiciously missing from the various crossover stories, and that’s because Marvel and DC are giving those fancy heroes their own crossover issues next March and April. We got our first look at the first issue this week.
There are a whole bunch more covers to look at if you’d like! I’m not a cover collector.
The main story will be written by Mark Waid, with artwork by Jorge Jimenez. Then there will be a bunch more smaller crossovers in this first issue.
- Lois Lane and Mary Jane Watson by Tom King and Jim Lee.
- Jimmy Olsen and Carnage by Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber.
- Power Girl and Punisher by Gail Simone and Belen Ortega.
- Pa Kent and Uncle Ben by Jeff Lemire and Rafa Sandoval.
- Spider-Man 2099 and the Legion of Super-heroes by Sean Murphy.
- Superboy Prime and Black Suit Spider-Man by Christopher Priest and Daniel Sampere.
- The Daily Planet and The Daily Bugle by Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott.
Hot damn those sound awesome! As a newspaper man myself, I love the idea of Greg Rucka writing a short story about the journalistic backgrounds of both Clark Kent and Peter Parker. That should be fun! And I’m very confident that Fraction and Lieber can pull off a really crazy crossover between Carnage and Jimmy Olsen.
So yeah! Loved the first two crossover issues, can’t wait to see more. And I really do hope all of this leads to a new Amalgam event in the very near future!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 9/13/25
I don’t normally post comic reviews from two weeks at a time, but work got really busy at the end of last week and I just didn’t get around to posting the reviews I prepared. So I’ve added a couple reviews to this week’s regular releases, like Absolute Batman and Captain America.
Comic Book of the Week goes to the Batman/Deadpool crossover because I love me a good Marvel/DC crossover project!
Meanwhile, I mostly spent the past week replaying some old PC games now that I’ve got a new computer with a fancy new graphics card! It’s been alright. In better news, work has begun on volume 3 of my own comic, Gamer Girl & Vixen! We’re gonna take a big swing with this new threequel and are very excited to make it happen. I love when the creative juices are flowing and I’m writing up a storm with ideas!
Comic Reviews: Absolute Batman #12, Amazing Spider-Man #12, Captain America #3 and Deadpool/Batman #1.

There have been some rumblings in the comicsphere about a new Marvel and DC crossover in the works, and now the word is official: It’s a Batman/Deadpool crossover! Neat. I’m all for it. I don’t think those two characters have ever crossed over before, so at least the concept will be new. And I’m always in favor of Marvel and DC working together.
So there will be two comics, one from each company, and they’ve pulled out all the stops for the creators. Marvel will go first with Deadpool/Batman with the likes of filmmaker Kevin Smith, Chip Zdarsky, Kelly Thompson, Adam Kubert, Terry Dodson, Gurihiru, Zeb Wells and Greg Capullo doing stories and artwork. So holy heck that’s a quality team. That issue will come out in September.
Then DC will produce Batman/Deadpool in November, written by Grant freakin’ Morrison, with artwork by Dan Mora, which is about as insane a team as you could ever imagine on a comic these days. I don’t even know if Morrison still writes comics? What have they been up to the past few years? And Mora is a machine!
This is all super keen!
