For Christmas This Year, an Underwhelming Avengers: Doomsday Teaser
I’m still a very big Marvel Studios and MCU guy. I’ve seen it all and loved 99% of it, even all this post-Endgame stuff that the internet loves to hate. So I’m very much looking forward to Avengers: Doomsday a year from now. But hooboy, this first teaser trailer is a stinker.
Don’t watch if you don’t want any spoilers.
Basically, all this teaser trailer does is reveal one specific character who will be appearing in the movie. And I don’t really care. We know the movie is gonna feature everybody — that’s half the point of the movie. But there could have been so much else to see in a proper first teaser. Not even a better glimpse of Doctor Doom? Nothing? Just that one guy?
What a bummer for this holiday season.
Anyway, this is my last post until next week because I’ll be off on an extended family Christmas weekend! Merry Christmas everybody, and Happy Holidays!

The First Odyssey Trailer is Here!
The first teaser trailer for The Odyssey by Christopher Nolan has arrived on the internet and now arrived on my blog, shared with everybody who wants to see it. Looks pretty fancy.
Apparently, the movie is getting a ton of hate online for not having period-accurate costumes, to which I say I don’t care. Not in the least. Oh my god, I do not care. All I care about is whether or not it’s a good movie. Hard to tell from his trailer. Seems a little too self-serious to me. But I trust Christopher Nolan to make a good movie and to make a big, epic movie, so you’re darn right I’m going to watch.
The Odyssey comes to theaters on July 17.

Sesame Street Does Benoit Blanc
There won’t be any comic book reviews this weekend or next. I read some comics this week, but didn’t really have anything worthwhile to say about them. And next week I’ll be on an extended Christmas vacation! Which stinks, because some major comics come out next week. Oh well! I’ll catch up the week after.
Instead of all that, I’m gonna share this Sesame Street homage to Benoit Blanc and the Knives Out movies.
Heh, his name is “Beignet”, that’s awesome. Anyway, I enjoy when Sesame Street does such things. And I enjoy Benoit Blanc mysteries to begin with. Which also serves as a reminder that Wake Up Dead Man is available to watch on Netflix right now! Go watch it, if you haven’t seen it yet.
Good times all around.

I Very Much Enjoy the First Half of the New Stranger Things
I really liked the first half of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. I’ve always been a big fan of the show, and I’m very eager to see how it all ends. The action, characters, surprises and pay-offs were quite excellent. So here’s hoping the second half and finale are just as good!
How about a trailer for all of it? Don’t watch if you haven’t seen the first half, yet.
Nothing too specific or revealing, which is nice, and the promise of a couple great team-ups and scenes, which is great. Everything a trailer and a teaser should be.
The second half of the Stranger Things final season arrives on Christmas Eve or Day, and I’ll be out of town, so who knows when I’ll get to see. Then the finale on New Year’s. I’m debating whether or not to see it in theaters just for the event of it all…though I don’t know if it’ll even be playing locally. We’ll see!

I Am Fully on Board With An Insane Street Fighter Movie
Late last week were The Game Awards, which I don’t watch, but they had a lot of trailers for upcoming video games and video game-related things. I should probably share some of those trailers, and I might, because I like video games. But more importantly, we got a solid teaser trailer for the upcoming Street Fighter movie…and it’s a hoot!
I am fully in favor of going full cartoon with a new Street Fighter movie. I’m very eager to see what they do with it. A cheesy Street Fighter was a flop in the 90s. A more serious attempt was a flop, when they focused on Chun-Li that one time. Why not have some fun with it? Why not go with totally accurate costumes and powers and smashing cars and fighting? Mortal Kombat tried to be serious and make stuff up and not even get to the tournament. The Twisted Metal TV show is going all-in on the zaniness and it was one of the best shows of the year!
The Street Fighter movie comes to theaters on…oh wow, Oct. 16. That’s a long ways away. And yet still before Grand Theft Auto VI…alas.
