Sizzle Reels Show Both Arrow and Flash With Some Sizzle!
Quick, wicked trailers for the new seasons of Arrow and The Flash were shown off at New York Comic-Con this past weekend, and both are pretty neat. We’ve already seen some of these teases in earlier trailers, but there’s still a lot of cool, new stuff.
Flash
Arrow
I saw the first episodes last week, and both were very good. I’m definitely looking forward to the coming seasons. I still kinda miss Roy Harper on Arrow, but we’ll see how Thea steps up as the new Red Arrow. And here’s hoping The Flash can pull off alternate dimensions. That stuff gets pretty tricky.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/10/15
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! The long national nightmare of Secret Wars is over, and the All-New, All-Different Marvel is upon us! Though, that isn’t exactly accurate. Secret Wars is not yet over, and will actually continue all the way into December. And it’s not a nightmare, I’m actually enjoying it. But the All-New, All-Different Marvel is definitely here in force this week! No longer do we have to rely on tie-ins or Star Wars comics to get our Marvel fix! We’ve got brand new first issues of Amazing Spider-Man, Invincible Iron Man and Doctor Strange, who, I guess, doesn’t deserve an adjective.
Comic Book of the Week goes to the first issue of the new Amazing Spider-Man, which only barely inches past the new Invincible Iron Man. Possibly because it includes the greatest cameo by the Prowler in a decade! Among other goodies.
Though this week isn’t all wine and roses. DC has launched their sequel to the henchly-reviled Batman Eternal! And like a pig to the slaughter, I picked that up too…
Comic Reviews: Action Comics #45, Amazing Spider-Man #1, Batman and Robin Eternal #1, Doctor Strange #1 and Invincible Iron Man #1.
How Ant-Man Should Have Ended!
Let’s keep this Ant-Man train rolling with everyone’s favorite: How It Should Have Ended!
This one was legit funny, and had a pretty solid nitpick about that tank. But once again, it relies a bit too much on the Batman/Superman cafe scene. I realize that the HISHE team loves those little scenes, but man, I’m gonna keep dinging them for it. I want to see them make fun of movies! Not revel in their Batman/Superman running gags. Is that too much to ask?!

The Ant-Man Sequel Will Co-Star the Wasp!
New York Comic-Con is this weekend, and the news has started swirling! First up is the announcement of the Ant-Man sequel, which will arrive on July 6, 2018. The bigger news is that the movie will be called Ant-Man and the Wasp! Evangeline Lilly will get to don her badass costume and help headline a movie! Hopefully this means she’ll also be included in the toyline, right Marvel?
I’m definitely excited about this. I loved the first Ant-Man, and knowing that a sequel is coming is big news – though I’m probably more excited to see him guest star alongside the other Avengers in next year’s Captain America: Civil War.
The sad news is that the Ant-Man sequel will have some major shake-ups for future Marvel movies. Captain Marvel is getting bumped from November 2018 to March 2019. That’s very disappointing news! I’d rather have that one come first. But also bad is that Black Panther is getting moved ahead to February 2018! Everybody knows that February is a deadzone for new movies! Why would Marvel ever release a movie in February?
Though I have noticed that more studios seem to be putting bigger movies in the January/February zone. The third Kung-Fu Panda is going to come out in that winter period. Surely that’s not expected to bomb, right? Are studios trying to reclaim the winter months?!

The 6 Flattest Characters in Comics
In the grand world of comic book superheroes, one of my favorite super-powers is the ability to turn 2-dimensionally flat. I’ll explain why in a minute. It’s just such a weird, interesting power. Sometimes stretching is involved, sometimes its not. Mostly it’s just about getting totally flat.
Some heroes can lift 100 tons! Some can run faster than the speed of sound! Some are really, really good with a bow and arrow! But who cares about all of those fancy, famous superheroes? It’s far more interesting to explore the weird and obscure heroes, those with the power to become flatter than a pancake.
One has to assume it’s a more useful power than it appears.
